What days were those? Kids today know that going to UND or Minnesota doesn't guarantee anything. Kids from Mankato and St Cloud State make the pros too.
I said 'recent' history, Bob. I will put you on the list though.
BTW...rest in peace, Bob.

My post should have been titled 'Good-bye Phoenix.' Sounds like regardless of the outcome of last night's vote, the Phoenix Coyotes have indeed played their last game under that name.
WTF, Goon, didn't you at least take English 101 while at UND?
I can't wait to see if Chicago puts Zdeno Chara's name on the Stanley Cup as a thank-you for all of his hard work this post-season. On the ice for 10 of Chicago's last 12 goals...that's pretty tough to do!
Yep, I like it. But since I'm against the Rough Riders for obvious reasons I guess UND can't be 'green' due to the proximity of EGF High School.
I guess it's the University of North Dakota Green Rough Knights.
As a Detroit fan, this bugs me to no end...for crying out loud, it's Red Wings, not Redwings. Kind of like writing Fightingsioux instead of Fighting Sioux...
Goon, you pay attention to this post too.
I was in Phoenix in December the first year the Jets spent in Phoenix. TERRIBLE sightlines at the old America West Arena so we moved down to the lower level for the third period. The Coyotes upset Pavel Bure and the Vancouver Canucks that day...good game. I agree 100% on the shorts and
flip-flops to the game...great time.
However, 13,000 and change for a home game this past season doesn't cut the mustard. Terrible decision by Glendale. What a boondoggle they've gotten themselves into. The buyout clause all but guarantees that the team will be gone in five years anyways.
A blog post I read a bit ago said it best...'Glendale is re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic...". I couldn't have put it better myself.
Now you're really making me feel bad so here's a heads-up...the county sheriff is sending a SWAT team over to your house in just a few minutes (maybe they're already there)...something about a conversation I had with them this morning involving words like 'kilos' and 'Sacred Heart cartel.'
A bit off-topic, but the 'new' WCHA has an updated logo...
I've always preferred more subdued conference logos...I like the new WCHA version. Curious to see how the multi-color NCHC logo will look on uniforms this year.
