  1. Did you and gfhockey exchange cell phones on the ride home?
  2. Yep, but Mother Teresa's School for the Blind is a bit juvenile, don't you think?
  3. It's cheaper than ignition interlock, right?
  4. Saunders might have sucked tonight...maybe you should be given a chance in net?
  5. Congratulations to the Penn State Nittany Lions on arguably their biggest victory ever, a 4-0 win over Michigan!
  6. Western Michigan sweeps the Redsk, er, RedHawks at Miami...and Michigan Tech puts a 10-spot on the board at home against Alabama-Huntsville. Think their students got bored with the T-e-c-h-n-o-l-o-g-i-c-a-l chants tonight?
  7. Dear moderator team, This is the crap you can expect when gfhockey is allowed back on the site. Please, please pull the plug on this bozo and replace him with someone, ANYONE, who can provide a well-thought out post at least once in a while. On behalf of regular SiouxSports.com hockey posters here in the board, I plead with you, no, strike that, I beg of you, to hear our cry.
  8. I don't know why the shootout is even remotely popular with fans. I would rather see the captains mark off 30 paces and draw pistols in a duel as opposed to have shootouts decide winners and losers.
  9. 12 posts into his first day back...and three of them reference the "Saturday let down." Seriously, why bother posting, gfhockey?
  10. Thanks. Absolutely no animosity on my part in defending the CCHA - I hope my comments are not being perceived as such.
  11. Obviously not. My own personal "Saturday letdown."
  12. You claimed that the CCHA consisted of 8 crummy teams and 3-4 good ones. I simply pointed out some facts about the last 7 years to totally disprove your theory. I'm a fan of college hockey, period. My name is Gordon, but my friends call me "Red."
  13. Cue the scene in "The Shining": Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!
  14. I hate the idea of pulling players off the ice. Why not four on four with no goalies while we're at it? Two on two? As a fan, I never complained about a 15 minute wait for the OT period to start, only to have the game end a minute later. It could be 30 seconds, it could be 19:59. That's why OT is so awesome.
  15. I guess that depends on the criteria of determining the 'best conference.' One could use the 'what conference has the most titles in the past ten years?' argument and that would seem to be Hockey East. But since that conference has been a one-team wrecking crew, is that a good argument for best overall conference? The CCHA has lost 4 of 5 NCAA title games since '07...that's obviously not in their favor. I guess my vote, at least from 2012 to now, would be the ECAC. It's always fun to argue what conference is the best. That's why 2005 was so awesome. There was no doubt and I mean NO DOUBT that year.
  16. Groan...I need to invest in a 'gfhockey to English' translation book. What is a "chose city"?
  17. Or just go back to 5 on 5 with a 20:00 OT period and let ties stand.
  18. To paraphrase "The Naked Gun"... The doctor says there's a 50/50 chance that the Sioux will pull thru...although there's only a 33% chance of that.
  19. The is directly related to the Blais-clone Principle that Wilbur and I discussed a week or two ago.
  20. I like Martin St Louis a lot and he has had an incredible career. I have no problem with him being an Olympic selection. But to say he's a no-brainer over Claude Giroux is rather absurd.
  21. Again, I beg to differ. From 2007-2013, 5 different CCHA teams made the men's ice hockey national championship game (as I already stated) and 10 of the conference's 12 teams qualified for the NCAA tournament. Only Bowling Green and Lake Superior State did not made the NCAA's in those 7 seasons. If that's not a strong conference, I don't know what is. I do agree that Miami's tournament performance has been less than stellar.
  22. Your initial point, siouxsweet, was to point out how "weak" the CCHA has been in recent years. Since 2007, FIVE different CCHA teams have advanced to the NCAA championship game. I'd say that that's pretty impressive, considering during that same time span, the WCHA has been in the title game twice. Still care to claim the CCHA NCAA tournament performance as a conference whole has been "weak" over the past few years?
