  1. Where is the puking emoticon when I need it?
  2. I agree that it was a bs call...but, again, you KNOW the officials are going to try to even things up. Why even put yourself into the situation? And just before that breakaway...how about you hit the waiting left-handed shooter with a pass ON HER STICK as opposed to the opposite-hand side? Pass gets fumbled, picked off, and skated down the other way...while USA player #3 is skating off on a line change? Good grief...FIRE HAKSTOL!
  3. Good point. Although I think in terms of (un)popularity here on the board, gfhockey is the equivalent of Lyndon B Johnson...and that makes us Barry Goldwaters.
  4. You DIDN'T want a penalty called on the Canuck for using her stick to slam the US player onto the back of her head?
  5. I thought that was ME?
  6. Say what you want about the slashing call in OT...you can't put yourself in the situation like that where a call might be made. You KNOW the refs will be looking for anything to even things up.
  7. Right! gfhockey could have hit that open net...on a good buzz.
  8. Canada's second goal was a back-breaker...5 white jerseys occupying about 10 square feet of ice.
  9. Off-sides, girls...sheesh
  10. Right! This is the Olympics...not the Edina Mites Jamboree!
  11. Time remaining?
  12. Correct - 6th place. Or else. http://sochi2014.iih...s/germany-army/
  13. gfhockey is everywhere today!
  14. Fire Hak if USA loses this game? Oh, wait, he's Canadian...
  15. Olympic parity.
  16. Nope, one of my other players did, though...so we played the entire second half a player down. Pretty impressive, if you ask me.
  17. 5 on 3? No problem. My broomball team killed off a 20 minute power play two weeks ago.
  18. And I've leave Jim O'Brien off that list and put Bjugstad on there. Interesting story about Jim O'Brien, though...he was among a group of healthy scratch players for the Ottawa Senators (in town to play the Bruins) who had planned to attend the 2013 Boston Marathon - and stand near the finish line. The group decided to 86 the idea of going to watch the race and instead stayed in their hotel and took a nap instead.

  20. Was he slew-footing one of the L twins as they left the ice?
  21. Thanks, cberkas.
  22. We won our broomball semi-final game last night 1-0 and lost the championship game 2-1. I had 0 goals, 0 assists, and was a -1 on the evening, having been on the ice for the game-winning goal scored against us with about five minutes left in the game. I'm not sure I'm qualified to coach defense OR offense, Wilbur, but I do appreciate being thrown into the mix of coaching candidates you'd work alongside.
  23. Really? Good for the Swiss. Here's another question...since the advent of women's hockey, the USA and Canada own all of the gold and silver medals save for Sweden's silver in 2006. USA has the 2006 bronze medal and Switzerland now has one bronze medal. Who has the others?
  24. Who won the bronze medal game?
  25. As opposed to playing Minnesota in the cozy confines of the Xcel Energy Center, in front of 8,000-10,000 of THEIR fans, vs playing in Bismarck, in front of 5,000-7,000 of North Dakota fans? It was just a suggestion...especially since there don't appear to be many bidders for these things nowadays... 2015: Fargo 2016: Bismarck 2017: Grand Forks Since 2001, Manchester, NH, and Worcester, MA have hosted a regional. Both are within 60 miles of Boston. That streak will continue thru at least 2016, too. Hmnn...
