  1. Beat me to the punch...it can't work any worse than Target Center, can it?
  2. Didn't the Bismarck Bobcats play their first season at the civic center? I'm almost positive they did.
  3. Good point. I'll offer one up...can we have Grand Forks, Fargo, and maybe even the Bismarck Civic Center make an effort to consistently host NCAA men's regional hockey tournaments?
  4. Now there's a fair comparison - from this point forward, all NCAA regionals involving UND will be played at REA. This will be followed by the Frozen Four, which will also be played at REA. Give me 10 years of that and instead of you lobbying for Hakstol to be canned on a weekly hourly basis around here, you'll be spear-heading an effort to build a statue of him out in front of the arena.
  5. 2002 and 2003 titles be damned...Lucia still needs a pair.
  6. The NHL player question is legitimate...a women's league? Only if the NHL is willing to prop up each team's financial losses, which would be in the millions of dollars.
  7. Edited my initial post - 6 different champions, not 7. I counted Denver twice. My bad.
  8. 2004-2013 ten-year span: WCHA: 3 (Denver 2004 & 2005, Wisconsin 2006, UMD 2011) CCHA: 1 (Michigan State 2007) Hockey East: 1 (Boston University 2009) ECAC: 1 (Yale 2013)
  9. Was actually 6, not 7. I counted Denver twice. My mistake. Fixed my original post.
  10. No way someone just asked him that. Surely, you can't be serious...
  11. Here's another good one, gfhockey... in the last 10 years, BC has won 3 NCAA titles...in the 7 years that BC did not win the title, 6 different teams have won titles. Throw out BC...and I give you...that nasty word again...parity. EDIT: 6 different teams, not 7.
  12. Here's a couple of facts for you, gfhockey... BC has won 4 of the last 14 titles, but EIGHT different schools have won the remaining TEN titles FIVE DIFFERENT schools from ONE CONFERENCE have at least one title during that 14 year span If that's not parity, I don't know what is.
  13. Hilarious how you make that 2000 Sioux title sound like it happened in the era of black and white TV and wool hockey jerseys...but constantly rant about the Gopher back-to-backs of 2002 and 2003 like they happened in the last two seasons.
  14. All good arguments...I'd like to add one: 4. gfhockey being named extra-special associate head coach. Let's face it...his keen insight of the game and clear knowledge of how to win championships, along with his ability to relate to the young players by teaching them the basics of jager bombs and keg stands, is what we need to put this team over the top.
  15. Damn that's a great name.
  16. Were you channeling your inner "Fire Hak" thread?
  17. Are we out of unicorns?
  18. Fixed your post...cue all the Sioux fans who would accept 8 losing seasons in 14 years.
  19. ...because we all know that being a high round or first round draft choice is a sure-fire sign of your college and NHL future. For example, Brian Lawton...oh, wait...well, Patrick Stefan...dang, ok, wait, I have one, Radek Bonk, groan...nevermind...
  20. That's what it all boils down to - 9 times out of 10, the Soviets smoke the US in 1980...but that one time...that ONE time...
  21. http://extramustard.si.com/2014/02/19/austrian-hockey-team-partying-before-olympic-loss/?eref=sihp Really, Austria? LOL!
  22. That's enough out of you, Canada...let's go out behind the woodshed!
  23. Do you believe in miracles? C'mon Latvia!
  24. You're kidding me, right? if the Latvians beat Canada, they'll be parading down the streets of Riga for a month!
