  1. S Williams vs Li in women's tennis? WTF, ESPN2?
  2. Tough to tell...both Olympics were played without Canadian teams...
  3. Nah...just trying to mix up my Squirt team comparisons a bit...think I've used Bloomington Kennedy and Shakopee before...
  4. Sheesh...just 8 days ago, this team was no better than the Williston Squirt B team...now they're apparently the 1972 Soviet Union squad...
  5. I'd gladly blow up my bracket to see a Frozen three of Providence College, Denver, and Minnesota State along with North Dakota.
  6. Union vs Providence College in about an hour...picked the Dutchmen but cheering for the Friars!
  7. UND managed only 17 shots on goal thru the first two periods of that game and it was a late power play goal that made it 2-0 after two. While the final was 3-0 UND, there was definitely cause for concern over what was to come because I can clearly remember that Sioux team being frustrated all game long by Tony Quesada and Holy Cross. Contrast that with last night's effort against Wisconsin...
  8. Kunitz had 35 goals and 44 assists that season...3 assists in the win over UND...Hobey Hat Trick finalist (Peter Sejna from CC was the winner)... Revenge shall be served...11 years later!
  9. BC/Denver may just get shifted over to ESPNEWS for a few minutes...
  10. It was Mariucci. Gopher Nation was just upset because his mural painting business lost a big contract oppprtunity last weekend...
  11. It's all set up for SCSU to wind up the season on a three-game losing streak, isn't it?
  12. He's still busy trying to defend Michigan as not being just a mediocre team...
  13. Picked Minnesota, Notre Dame, BC, and UMass-Lowell today...would love to see Robert Morris and Denver pull off upsets though. St Cloud State? Nah.
  14. ...which will no doubt happen here again if UND loses today...or in the Frozen Four semi-finals...or in the NCAA championship game..
  15. http://www.mavpuck.com/mpboard/ I haven't heard of any such rumblings myself...but I'm sure they are out there...
  16. Saw those this morning...surprised there were only 7. http://m.host.madison.com/sports/college/hockey/badgers-men-s-hockey-three-goal-third-bumps-uw-out/article_98ef88e9-1efe-5b30-9031-a7facd6c8520.html?mode=comments&mobile_touch=true
  17. 30-9-1 record in 2002-2003 coming into NCAA tournament play. CCHA champions. Placed in west regional at Mariucci Arena as the #2 seed. While #1 seed Minnesota dismantled Mercyhurst in their first game, the #3 seed Sioux looked like they took the Bulldogs for granted and were looking ahead in a 5-2 loss. Minny then defeated Ferris 7-4 and advanced to the Frozen Four. Beat Michigan in OT and them rolled UNH in the championship game.
  18. Michigan...Michigan State...Arizona...Florida...my Final Four picks are all still alive at the Elite 8 mark. Pretty sure I haven't had that luck since I had UCLA winning the tournament back in '95!
  19. The dry heat must be taking a toll on you this weeked, Oxbow6. C'mon...Yale is the home of the country's oldest inter-collegiate ice hockey team with roots dating back to 1893 and has over 2,000 wins in program history. They may lack NCAA titles, but Yale does NOT lack tradition.
  20. UND a #4 seed that squeaked into the tournament. It's an upset. Goal-scoring pretty evenly distributed amongst the team. Draft status doesn't win tournament games.
  21. ...that's the exact same number of NCAA playoff teams that vaunted Union College played against this season...1-0-1 against St Cloud and 1-1-1 against Colgate.
  22. ...and boy did they dodge a bullet on that flop in front of Motte late in today's game. What should have been 2:00 in the box for diving and a chance for Colgate to tie the game instead resulted in a 2:00 Bulldog power play.
  23. 4-0 baby! I'd like to claim that I'm some sort of hockey Rasputin, but, alas, I'm tied with 39 others! Nonetheless...it's Minnesota, Notre Dame, UMass-Lowell, and Boston College winning tomorrow...
