Let's say I hire Oxbow6 to do 61 assignments that take him away from his home...and he manages to complete 6 of them successfully. Should I give him another 61 to see if there is improved performance or conclude that I've seen the best he's able to give?

Well, to be fair, the current Cleveland Browns actually have no real connection to the team that used to be the Cleveland Browns, yet they look EXACTLY like the original Cleveland Browns....same goes for the Winnipeg Jets except for the jerseys, although hot rumor is that the Jets 2.0 will unveil a throwback alternate jersey at some point...

Why not? It'd be the only pro game in town. I think the NHL may have had better success with southern expansion had it not picked cities already saturated with pro sports teams (especially Miami). Las Vegas expansion team...Seattle expansion team...Florida Panthers move to Quebec City or even Hartford...NHL gold.

Yes, beating the Dickinson State Blue Hawks is now apparently the University of North Dakota benchmark for success.

Oxbow6, I guess this is what you mean by the bar being set low, eh? Now we're measuring success by seeing how well this team handles adversity against Dickinson State. I'm sure this isn't what most folks had in mind when they learned UND was going "Division I."

I'm on your side on this one, darell. The line last season was that UND was more successful than NDSU based on beating the Bison head-to-head. Nevermind that NDSU gained national exposure by making the NCAA tournament AND beating a very good Oklahoma team. On national TV. Again. Flash-forward nine months and now some folks are poo-poo'ing this loss to NDSU because they want to wait and see how the rest of the season turns out. No doubt at all in my mind that if UND wins the Big Sky and wins a game in the NCAA tournament, the same folks who last year claimed UND had the better season would immediately have a case of amnesia and think UND basketball is far superior to NDSU based on the overall 2014-2015 season. Problem is...they can't have it both ways.

The owner chickened out and never showed off the jersey to prove his point. I wonder where that jersey is today...what a cool piece of hockey history.

Agreed. But wasn't the "company line" around here last March that UND had the better season than NDSU based on that early-season victory over the Bison? If that's truly how folks felt back then, this is a disaster of epic proportions for UND this season.
