What's a better determination of a conference champion, playing each of the 9 possible opponents in your conference once, or playing 8 of 13 possible conference opponents and having a championship game decide based upon divisions?

East Carolina, Pitt, and Wake Forest...three schools who beat the team that beat Ohio State.

And if TCU won the Big 10 and Ohio State was the Big XII co-champ...nothing changes.

Was just gonna say...if the Big XII co-champions are Texas and Oklahoma, Urban and his boys are crying over their lunch right about now...

The only reason these stupid conference championship games came about was to make more $$$$$. Baylor was robbed!

So the solution would have been to have Rice and SMU as members of the Big XII and re-play a game that's already been played to determine a conference champion. Got it. Ley's try this: take Indiana and Purdue out of the Big 10 and don't play a Wisconsin vs Ohio State championship game. All of a sudden, the Buckeyes aren't worth of final four consideration?

Regardless of what happens, it's absolutely amazing how quickly TCU and Baylor have established themselves as Big XII powers. Oklahoma and Texas have run that conference for years (along with Nebraska, of course)...Gary Patterson and Art Briles are excellent coaches.

Wow! So now a team with THREE losses on its resumé including a 30-0 defeat at the hands of Arkansas is STILL good enough to be in an 8-team playoff?

Ohio State lost to Virginia Tech! At home! I don't care if gfhockey was QB'ing the Buckeyes that day - that loss absolutely destroys the rest of their body of work.
