North Dakota won the Beanpot regional out east back in 2005 to advance to the WCHA tournament in Columbus...which led to the greatest Al Pearson bus ride in the history of Al Pearson bus rides!

Houghton is 6 hours from St Paul - in IDEAL driving conditions. The reason Tech had so many supporters was because a good number of Gopher fans showed up to cheer for them (wearing Tech jerseys) and because it's the first time since the early 1990's that the Huskies were in the title game. I'm guessing that had a few fans wanting to make the trip.

I have no problem with it - kids from 7 out of 8 teams can say that they won a game at the state tournament. You know you're playing 3 no matter what.
