You are totally right on that! I went to some of those 1990's Civic Center tournaments as well. 1997 was the best one and St Paul was slam-packed for the Sioux-Gopher title game. I don't recall a single restaurant within short walking distance - closest food court was somewhere by the Children's Science Museum - and it closed at 5:00 pm. Without a pro hockey team in town, downtown St Paul would be a food-and-drink desert.

In years past, I have given away t-shirts with the Hogfsbreath logo in Fighting Sioux team colors. Can't afford to be as generous these days, but would certainly have some printed up at reasonable cost for next year if there was enough interest. Not sure if my PWR calculations are correct or not but I have North Dakota out of the tournament at #18 just behind Lakeville North and Minot.
