The problem is fans who don't know the difference. Remember the Scott Stevens crushing hit on Eric Lindros? That's cheered as a "clean hit" in the NHL when in reality, Lindros was very vulnerable in that situation. That hit in college would get the offender an early ticket to the locker room - and it should.
-
Can't find a link anywhere but heard that Red had some not-so-kind comments directed at Copp about leaving Michigan early.
-
The college rule on this type of hit is quite clear. This isn't the NHL.
-
I believe the Friars were also in there once in the 1960's. Check with Siouxman - he was probably there to see it in person.
-
Bucci, 2015 - 1985 = ? It's 30 years, not 25.
-
1985. They played in Cooper-alls. Time to update that, Friars, so let's go!
-
Boy, seemed like that whole period was played right in front of Gillies.

The hockey regional final has started and we're watching B10 *^%+€£% LACROSSE?

TD Garden, my bad. I'm so old-school, I only really remember the old Boston Garden. You know, the place inhabited by sports legends like Rick Bourque, Ken Neely, Lenny Bird, Vernon "Cornflakes" Mixwell, and Ron Auerbach.

2015 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament
MafiaMan replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Men's Basketball
March Madness is great but the complete lack of fundamentals in some of today's players is absolutely maddening. -
Providence College is 60 minutes away from TD Garden. If the Friars win today, they'll have a few fans ready to make the trip. It'll be their first Frozen Four in 30 years.
-
Heard thru the grapevine that some members of the UMD coaching staff confronted officials in the locker room afterwards...
-
I wish I had a gif image of the Miami player who dove to prevent the Providence ENG attempt. Talk about giving 110%. One of the most outstanding "never quit" plays I have ever seen. Congratulations to the Miami Redhawks on an outstanding season. I was sooo pulling for your team to tie that up, win it in OT, and exorcise the demons of that NCAA title game loss to BU a few years back.

Maybe Hak can take you out to dinner next weekend as a thank-you for all that you do? -
Official: Dr Emmert, it's the NE Regional. BC has already lost in the east. BU is on the ropes here. What's your order, sir? Emmert: You know what to do. Implement Operation T-P-P. Official: Operation Toilet Paper Patrol? Emmert: No, you dolt! Operation Terrier Power Play! Official: Oh yea. Duh! Right away, sir!

You might have a few of them on "ignore" already so perhaps you're filtering some of the noise out? Even gfhockey went from "if hak cant get it done, next man up" to "im a hak supporter" in one weekend. -
Denver vs Providence College and RIT vs Nebraska Omaha later today... RIT, PC, and UNO all trying to build some tradition - would love to see new blood in the Frozen Four. Go Friars!
-
That Evan Rodrigues is a pretty good player...
-
Wisconsin was the #1 overall seed (my how the mighty have fallen in only 9 years) and the #16 seed was the CHA tournament champion Bemidji State.
-
Yale deserved a better fate against BU.
-
Random kids who jumped into the photo apparently.
-
Funny, because NONE of me feels that way.

Fixed your post. I'm sure yzerman19, SIOUXFAN97, and some others will be along shortly to give this team and the coaching staff some credit for putting last weekend behind them. Won't they? Great effort by this team against a tough Quinnipiac squad and an always-ready-to-play St Cloud State team. Ya gotta believe - SIOUX FOREVER!

Oh yea, fs4l?
