  1. Yea, BSA is outdated and Scheels is a hockey rink, but the warmer winter temps in Fargo do help attract better players than Grand Forks...
  2. Ohmygosh, aren't there enough threads dedicated to the Bruins already? Do we need a Bruins prospects thread too?
  3. You think Shayne Gostisbehere perhaps wishes he'd have come back for his senior year?
  4. He can frickin' hit too!
  5. RIT might not come back to win this thing, but kudos to the Tigers for not bowing out in the first game 20-0 like some folks expected them to.
  6. "Ruby looking like a diamond on that play..." Groan. C'mon Ben...
  7. LOL! I did a double-take on that initially thinking I didn't hear it right!
  8. So if Omaha holds on and wins this game, here's what we'll have for the Frozen Four: 1 team that won its conference tournament (BU) 1 team that lost in the semi-finals of its conference tournament, then lost the 3rd place game (UND) 1 team that lost 2 out of 3 at home and was eliminated in the opening round of its conference tournament (PC) and 1 team that lost two games in a row at home and was eliminated in the opening round of its conference tournament (UNO) So tell me again...the theory is you have to go into the NCAA's "on a roll," right?
  9. The problem is fans who don't know the difference. Remember the Scott Stevens crushing hit on Eric Lindros? That's cheered as a "clean hit" in the NHL when in reality, Lindros was very vulnerable in that situation. That hit in college would get the offender an early ticket to the locker room - and it should.
  10. Can't find a link anywhere but heard that Red had some not-so-kind comments directed at Copp about leaving Michigan early.
  11. The college rule on this type of hit is quite clear. This isn't the NHL.
  12. I believe the Friars were also in there once in the 1960's. Check with Siouxman - he was probably there to see it in person.
  13. Bucci, 2015 - 1985 = ? It's 30 years, not 25.
  14. 1985. They played in Cooper-alls. Time to update that, Friars, so let's go!
  15. Boy, seemed like that whole period was played right in front of Gillies.
  16. The hockey regional final has started and we're watching B10 *^%+€£% LACROSSE?
  17. TD Garden, my bad. I'm so old-school, I only really remember the old Boston Garden. You know, the place inhabited by sports legends like Rick Bourque, Ken Neely, Lenny Bird, Vernon "Cornflakes" Mixwell, and Ron Auerbach.
  18. March Madness is great but the complete lack of fundamentals in some of today's players is absolutely maddening.
  19. Providence College is 60 minutes away from TD Garden. If the Friars win today, they'll have a few fans ready to make the trip. It'll be their first Frozen Four in 30 years.
  20. Heard thru the grapevine that some members of the UMD coaching staff confronted officials in the locker room afterwards...
  21. I wish I had a gif image of the Miami player who dove to prevent the Providence ENG attempt. Talk about giving 110%. One of the most outstanding "never quit" plays I have ever seen. Congratulations to the Miami Redhawks on an outstanding season. I was sooo pulling for your team to tie that up, win it in OT, and exorcise the demons of that NCAA title game loss to BU a few years back.
  22. Maybe Hak can take you out to dinner next weekend as a thank-you for all that you do?
  23. Official: Dr Emmert, it's the NE Regional. BC has already lost in the east. BU is on the ropes here. What's your order, sir? Emmert: You know what to do. Implement Operation T-P-P. Official: Operation Toilet Paper Patrol? Emmert: No, you dolt! Operation Terrier Power Play! Official: Oh yea. Duh! Right away, sir!
  24. You might have a few of them on "ignore" already so perhaps you're filtering some of the noise out? Even gfhockey went from "if hak cant get it done, next man up" to "im a hak supporter" in one weekend.
  25. Denver vs Providence College and RIT vs Nebraska Omaha later today... RIT, PC, and UNO all trying to build some tradition - would love to see new blood in the Frozen Four. Go Friars!
