    I'm going to attempt another SiouxSports.com first and see how this goes. I have a Fighting Sioux item that I would like to part with, so I'm conducting a raffle similar to the bean bag board one this past winter/spring. Here's the catch...the prize is a mystery item. "Tickets" for this mystery raffle will be $5 each. The raffle will conclude by August 15th at the latest, unless enough entries are received before then. I will offer up random hints to spur some interest as I deem necessary. NO pictures will be posted and the eventual winner will agree to NOT reveal what the item is. I can assure you, you would NOT be disappointed to win it. Just post if you're interested and I'll update the entry list as needed. Payment will be by Paypal or snail mail check at the conclusion of the raffle. The first hint should be an obvious one - as I'm posting this in the hockey section. The second hint is size 58. If you're a smaller person, it's probably best to sit this one out. I also reserve the right to 86 this whole idea if it's a total bust - as in, only a couple of entries.     Two "iconic" college logos (in terms of football and basketball) along with the logos of the premier teams in each of the four professional sports in North America...two questions for you: #1) How many of these do you look at (without taking history, championships and team reputation into account) and think "WOW! That's a great logo!"? #2) How many of these logos do you think will be changed within your lifetime?

    I agree. For example, your beloved favorite team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers, is partial to their "M" logo over the running squirrel-gopher-platypus character.

    I pointed that out a while back. Imagine being Miami in the 1979 when the 'U' was rolled out. That "logo" would be laughed back to the drawing board today.

    Had I known it was as easy as the football team winning a half-dozen NCAA football national championships for everyone to stop confusing UND with NDSU, I'd give this my seal of approval. Maybe the school can toss in three or four men's and women's NCAA basketball championships too in order to help the cause.

    I voted for Fighting Hawks. Not because of the "potential logo" that some folks thought would be coming, but because it was MY vote and my personal opinion that it was the best option out of the choices presented to me. My first reaction to the new logo after seeing it is that it is a cleaner, more abstract version of the Niagara Purple Eagles. My second reaction is that this is brutal. Just BRUTAL. I kept an open mind in this process and was looking forward to seeing what the highly-paid consultants came up with. Disappointed in EVERY way, shape, and form.

    The Penguins need to ditch the awful Vegas gold and go back to yellow full-time next season. The jerseys look 100x better on TV with that bright yellow on them. C'mon, Mario, get it done!
