Anyone have any ideas how the crowd will turn out for the SDSoM's game? I can see a good crowd (8-9k) since there is nothing to do on a Thursday night but at the same time I can't see a lot of people (like 10k+) since its a meaningless game (or as I call it..preseason). Hopefully UND can work out the kinks and pefect their passing game and light up the scoreboard.

Just to play on that....just how big is too big? As population grows so should the university.

He helped UND athletics greatly and we are excelling at all our major sports. Conference championsips in football, basketball (men's and women's), volleyball, hockey, and of course getting into an AQ conference. Good job Brian!!

Didn't you hear.....a lot of students wearing NDSU shirts showed up at UND thinking they were at NDSU. Strange how that happens.

So for excuses not to play UND: Need 6 home games Need better competition Has to be every other year So in 2009 NDSU played 5 home games (due to a home and home with SHSU) their OOC home game was against Wagner. Final record 3-8. I think in Taylor's mind if you only have 5 home games you are doomed. Well what is Gene going to do in 2015 when they play AT Montana. Which means 1 home OOC game if they schedule an FBS game. Oh my NDSU is doomed in 2015. I am shocked that GT doesn't start telling these FBS teams they must start playing NDSU in Fargo.

So South Dakota is one of the better teams and established. Better than UND? Didn't UND just beat them yet again for a conference title? Please tell me how NDSU agrees to a home and home with South Dakota and yet Gene Taylor doesn't sign a home and home with UND. I smell BS in his we will play them every other year line.

So what is holding GT back since HE (Taylor) wanted every other year and that was proposed a few months ago. Scared to lose? Obviously he doesn't mind having to play AT UND since he wanted the every other year offer. Well Faison gave him that proposal and that was that. GT never signed it, now he looks like the bad guy. Boy this has more of a drama than the nickname issue.

So 2003 (still in DII) until 2014 thats 11 years So after the home and home end in 15 will it be another 11 years? How about GSU? 2006 still don't see them ( I know they backed out one year but until you play them the clock is ticking...6 years and counting). Good luck getting App State. We have never won a FBS game..so what neither has South Dakota State. NDSU is NOT an FBS team (I hate to break it to you but its true). Lets bash Valpo and RM with NDSU's OOC teams outside of transition...Austin Peay, Central Conn State, Wagner, Morgan State, Lafayette, St. Francis, PV A&M, Western Carolina (in 2013). So when we are on the same level of those teams NDSU will play us....gotcha!!!

So you are waiting for GSU, App and Montana to come to Fargo, well it took how long for you guys to schedule Montana since moving up? App St won't get scheduled because NDSU may lose just like they don't schedule UND. Well keep up playing the bottom of the FCS (PV, Wagner, St. Francis) that formula has been working so far.

Does NDSU fans think the Gophers are always going to be bad? The next Idaho of the Big 10? The next time they play and Minnesota crushes NDSU....Bison fans will demand never to play the Gophers (maybe thats why they don't want to play UND).

Because GT is waiting for the ultimate option....UND or NAIA/DII. Until the last FCS team is used up will he call UND for a game. Then he can use that excuse (for himself) but look like the hero for the renewed rivalry to everyone else.

Yes Valpo should be a blowout but SDSU and Montana just for OOC games...YIKES! It would be nice to play USD again but not in 2013...maybe Faison is still hoping GT will come to his senses and schedule UND (of course hell would be freezing over at that point). But IMO UND vs USD will happen again just not in 2013.

But...if UND beats NDSU in the playoffs that would be another reason GT would stay away from scheduling UND. Can't take an OOC loss when a playoff berth is on the line. As long as Gene Taylor is at NDSU....NDSU vs UND in football will never happen (unless its the playoffs).

So UND a DI counter school which is 70 miles from Fargo does little for NDSU except save money because you don't have to pay UND 250,000 to drive to Fargo in 1 day and drive back when the game is done. It does little for NDSU but get nationwide attention due to Fox College Sports not just KVLY. It does little in recruting if say someone is torn between UND and NDSU. Instead NDSU wants to act like the big bad wolf and play teams like the Wagners, PV A&M, and St. Francis so when they win 70-0 it makes them all warm and fuzzy and their fans can keep acting like NDSU is God in the FCS world. Where if UND comes to town then NDSU may lose since UND has only lost ONE game in the Fargodome since 1994 (their first meeting 34-13 UND victory). Then NDSU could a playoff bubble team as you need 7 wins for playoffs, plus recruits that are torn between the schools would then go to UND over NDSU, plus NDSU's #1 sport would be tainted by UND's #2 sport. Oh what should GT do??? I know.... blame UND for breaking the series in 2004 and never again to play them unless its the playoffs, and schedule extremely weak FCS teams like St. Francis and Prairie View and charge NDSU a quarter of a million dollars to bring them to Fargo for the annual ass kicking. Good plan Gene.

That sucks. I would like UND to play the Yotes. I suppose they don't want 12 games. (2013 is a 12 game year)

I say wear them until we lose....if we go perfect at home we keep the unis as a good luck charm.

Idaho being in the Indy league is like UND being in the Indy league. You are stuck with no conference schedule and try to find 5 or 6 teams to come up to the Kibbie Dome? They can hardly get any FBS teams to do that. They had to rely on UND to come up there. Idaho + Indy = DEATH!
