Mooney said the only spot on NDSU for him was being a male cheerleader. Also Jenny Crouse was recruited by both but wanted to go to who had a good avational school....UND!! Not all recruting battles were won by NDSU, in the 80's sure but 90's and 2000's. It was pretty dead even.

Last night I watched When they were Kings (DVR'd it) and it was painful to watch NDSU blowout UND in the 1980's. As a kid I remember UND just not being able to compete with the Bison. They made us look like a high school team. Then in 91 and 92 UND came close and I mean damn close to overtaking them but somehow NDSU found a way to win (1992-INT). 1993 (I was at that game with my parents) was the game I absolutely loved. Packed crowd, NDSU guy blabbing his big mouth then getting kicked out (we sat on the Bison side), and a great game. Watching fans ripping down the goal post in victory was a sight I have never seen before. That documentry did a great job on both sides. The women's basketball part was great too. I was at the 1997 National Title game. Packed crowd and it was loud just like every Sioux-Bison game was at the Hyslop. UND had great players (I loved Tiffany Pudenz , and Jenny Crouse ). Hopefully NDSU can get into the Big Sky for basketball so at least the Sioux-Bison games will have more meaning. Watching that show made me miss the old NCC days. I wish there was a way to get that conference back together...all of them (Morningside optional). That conference was the best of DII sports IMO. Maybe with the switching of conferences and teams in the FBS someday UND and NDSU will be reunited into the same conference. A person can only dream.

Maybe the AD didn't want to be like NDSU and end up suspending players later when it mattered...deep into a playoff race.

All they need is to go 3-8 like in 2009 and that number does drop. I can see NDSU in the future doing what UND does with its ticket prices. Why charge 20 bucks for everygame when you can charge 30 for a UNI or SDSU.

That doesn't make sense. How do you get stopped by the cops for just walking home. And how did they know it wasn't O'Doules on your breath. I walk all around Fargo and I don't just "get stopped by the cops".

I see that is the most important thing (wins and losses) but as for as financially and the entertainment aspect I see it as not worth 200k. (plus the full price of admission). I know its tough to schedule a team (UND had to scramble when Central Arkansas backed out replaced by Portland State), but if the price for OOC games (not home and home) is 200k or more every year you are either going to go broke, or the UND-NDSU game talk will be started and restarted every year they don't play.

If NDSU is up 52-0 at halftime....is that 200k really worth it? Fans leaving at halftime to hit BWW or other places do they really get their monies worth? I kinda felt that way when UND would beat on Crookston or Bemidji when its over before halftime I was like...could I get half my money back. I would like to see a good game but when the game is out of hand before halftime is it worth full price. (For the record in the W-L part of the game being over before half was more important to me).

Not all. UND 34 NDSU 13 in 1994 stands out in my head since it was the first UND-NDSU game played in the Fargodome. Then UND got blown out by NDSU in a playoff game in 1995 or 96 one of them. But most were close.

NDSU fans brought it up (UND hockey about a week ago) in the 8 players at NDSU charged thread which was in the football thread. So I slammed the door in their face about how UND handles hockey players that get in trouble.

They got pissed I brought up about Sioux hockey, too bad their Bison buddies did that about 100 posts earlier and not one Bison fan complained about it. Hmm so its okay if they bring up UND hockey but we can't. Just like I have to check in with them when I post something about UND on a message board designated to the college football world. Boy they win a NC and they think they can take over the world.

I got the DVR set. Its about football and women's basketball between the rivalries. Interviews with key people associated with the two sports. It should be good. 7:00pm tonight on PBS (channel 13 in Fargo).

Bison fans on AGS are blowing this off. Can't wait to see when 'ol Dom Izzo or Jeff Kopack ask GT or President Bresciani for a comment.
