I wonder if more and more FBS conferences will ban playing FCS teams. If so we could see NDSU, USD, and SDSU more often since more schools will be looking to cut costs and play more regional teams.

Could UND realistically afford to move up? No matter what conference it is could UND afford the extra scholarships? I know we can't unless Memorial Stadium gets over 15,000 seats but if we had a stadium of say 20-25k could UND make enough money to support an FBS move?

I was at the Montana game and I couldn't believe that more people didnt show up. Maybe it was the record or that football won't be big at UND until we are in the playoffs(still no excuse). I used to sit at a pretty empty Memorial Stadium in the mid to late 80's and I don't want the Al to turn into that.

Its because no one cares about SDSoM. Now this year with 7 home games all DI and all count towards the playoffs we SHOULD see an increase even more than last year, but winning will be the key. UND had big attendance at a game here or a game there but it hasn't been consistent since our DII days.

If UND was in a playoff hunt and not get blow out against EWU and MSU more people would have shown up. Transition killed attendance and its going to take a bit including a winning season to get the fans back to the Al.

Better improve on shooting...maybe West Elementary can open their gym up.

Since Douple took over in 2005: Centenary, Chicago State, Oral Roberts, Southern Utah, Valparaiso, and UMKC has left. The only teams to join since 2005: IPFW, UNO, NDSU, SDSU, USD, and DU. At least he has kept the revolving door even. Six SL teams has left for the Horizon...Oakland I am sure cannot wait to be number seven.

Lakesbison would protest any conference affiliation with UND. He is still trying to convince the MVC fans that NDSU and (sorta) SDSU belong. Bringing up attendance facts from as far back as DII days and 2009 NCAA MM game against KU at the Metrodome. They are not impressed.

They are stuck with 5 DI teams (until Omaha becomes a full DI member). So hello WAC!!!!

They did have a committee, but all that was messed up when Al Carlson got involved and the petitions got out to save the name.

Didn't they lose their AQ now since UMKC left....Omaha is not a full DI member so they have 5 DI teams in their conference.

Looking at the new WAC...it doesn't look any better than the GWC.

This was on BV. Could you imagine all Dakota 4 teams in the WAC? I think UND is still in the WAC for swimming, but having the BSC as a football only member? It does sound interesting.

I am just relaying what MVC fans are saying in their message boards. Most average 7000 or so while the SU's are around 3000. The only way UND would compete with that is play in the Ralph. But then again we are not in the unstable conference.

Too bad our conference isn't a revolving door for teams to come and go. Keep that MVC dream alive. Too bad the MVC fans think you and NDSU are a joke. With crappy buildings and low attendance.

Didn't NDSU fans think they had the best shot at the BSC from what they did in DII only to be pissed when they took UNC. Now they think they have a shot at the MVC because of their success in football even though Omaha fits geographically if Creighton leaves. Gotta love all this speculation that doesn't have to do with UND.

Yes the NCC (also called the No Cupcake Conference) was great in the day, but that was in the day. Now we (UND) have Montana, Montana State, Weber State you guys have Oakland and.....um......Omaha? Sorry but Omaha doesn't scream powerhouse. St. Cloud State was close to joining but would have to dump football and you really want them in your conference? Or Mankato? Augustana? Until its the Dakota 4 and the Montana's (plus Weber St) or the Dakota 4 in today's MVC, UND is sitting pretty in a very stable conference while the SL will be a team away from the new WAC.

Maybe Oakland will join the Horizon in more sports than baseball. As for UND they should join the Summit. No point in playing NJIT or Chicago State. Lets play teams closer to home than the east coast.
