If UND would have retired the name per the original agreement (Nov 30, 2010) add 6 weeks of choosing a new name (ala Arkansas St), that would take us to Jan 2011 with a new name, this upcoming season would've been UND's 4th season with the new nickname...would it have grown on people? Some yes, some no, and some would be leaning towards it.

Regular zones I go around 75 on interstate in MN, I don't dare go 80 as their fines are not a joke like ND's.

And when they don't? (see UND BIZ's post), also I don't go faster than traffic allows if there is no one I will go at most 5 over. 300 bucks in Minnesota is a pretty hefty fine.

Aren't you missing a school? What happens to USD? I don't think the SDBoR would allow the Jacks to move up again and leave the Yotes behind, plus with the SL Tournament in Sioux Falls pumping money into that city/state NDSU may be the only one to add.

UND has roughly 5 years left on their contract with the Alerus (10 year contact in Feb '09) so they are kinda stuck there for awhile unless they buy that out. As for Memorial Stadium, I have wondered with the IPF so close to the stadium is there enough room for a stadium expansion? But overall I hope you are right and UND takes the FBS road when the time has come.

With UND in the Alerus we would be stuck in the FCS flock.

Or how about keeping the speed limit low ONLY when workers are present, when they aren't there raise the speed limit back up. If it means going from 75-65 that's fine but going from 75 to 45-55 when no one is working is stupid.

But it showed UND was down in the mid 80's and climbed to the top, don't think we will stay down forever, just like you won't be at the top forever. All dynasties come to an end.

Of course the new name will suck compared to Sioux, just like Royals (Valley Jr. High) sucks compared to Warriors, and Redskins (GFC) compared to Knights. But now those nicknames are 20 years old and it has grown on people, just like the new name will grow on people in time. 5 years, nope, 10 years, maybe, 20 years much more likely. Not having a nickname is not going to be an option and neither is having Sioux or any Indian name AND logo. We have to accept it and move on. It sucks not being the Sioux but I still wear my Sioux gear, but when a new name is chosen I will purchase that named gear and why? Because I am a fan of the University of North Dakota. That name....COMES FIRST!!!!
