Miami is in bad shape because management sucks! Plain and simple. When Don Shula retired, that team went downhill. Jimmy Johnson tried to turn a passing team into a running team by taking the ball out of Dan Marino's hand. Fail. Enter Jay Fiedler, Brian Griese, Chad Pennington, Trent Green, and now Ryan Tannehill. Not exactly a bunch of HOF QB's, also you had Dave Wannstedt, Jim Bates, Nick Saban, Cam Cameron, Tony Sparano, Todd Bowles, and now Joe Philbin. Out of those coaches 2 AFC East titles (2000, 2008). Tells you us Dolphins fans are tired of Stephen Ross and and the crappy ownership of the team. Its not the same when it was Joe Robbie, Don Shula, Dan Marino and a Super Bowl contender. Bills haven't been good since Kelly and Levy left. The Jets haven't been great since Namath. If NE didn't have Bill Belichick they would be in the same boat as the rest of the AFC East.

When (or if) they remodel Memorial Stadium to be FBS ready, they could rename it Arrowhead Stadium. (I don't think the Chiefs would mind)

Other than that, this town is pretty dead.

If Jones can't get his guys to win on the road in the first couple months of the season, its difficult to win it during conference play the rest of the season. I know you only like to look at conference play and only conference play, but both OOC and conference games feed off each other. You need to win on the road to be successful, name the last team to go to the dance with a losing road record. Yes Jones is 10-10 in road conference play but 11-26 overall (including this season) on the road since joining the Big Sky isn't something to be proud of.

UND's road conference record 2012-13 6-4 (ranked 3rd) 2013-14 4-6 (tied for 3rd) If 5 wins leads a conference on the road that means winning on the road is not a sure thing. Jones can't win OOC games on the road, so winning at a BSC school is a very tall order for him.

I think NU will be back, maybe not a national contender right away but they will climb their way back.
