With UND playing .500 ball in another league, and the bison winning NCs, it is easy to see why appox 58% of voters on this board want the game, and 70% of voters on another board don't want the game. Yes, it is a historic rivalry game, but it will also bring its share of toxicity. I think the ndsu folks know that the river will flow south during the week before the game with all kinds of media bs, and maybe even a few facts to go along with the selective memory bs. If I'm the AD from state, why even go there with a FB game and drag yourself into the muck. The current situation is w/o void. If one takes the time to consider the best interests down south, it is not difficult to see why the game is not scheduled.

For every athletics department problem at NDSU the past ten years, you can also list an issue at UND. Happens everywhere, even SDSU. The fact that fans on this board think that every issue at NDSU is handled poorly while things are handled perfectly at UND, now thats a shocking development. It's good that you can smugly embelish every situation at NDSU, to provide shelter for a losing season.

Why all this talk . . . why doesn't NDSU just schedule a game with a top 25 team? OH, they did . . . next Aug 31st at Kansas State. Fair enough? Are you expecting a blowout loss for NDSU? Me . . .If it's more than 14, I'll be shocked. If K-State scores over 30, I'll be shocked. Saying that Alabama represents the average FBS team is ludicris, even saying they repesent the average team in the top 25 is ludicris. They are in a league with only a select few in FBS football. Comparing Bama to B1G schools is just as scary as comparing them to a good FCS team. As for Georgia Southern, if they showed up to to play gFU, Muss would be out of job by Monday, it would be that ugly. It would be better for und to not make the playoffs than to show up in GSU's bracket at your current performance level. GSU has size and strength match by very few in FCS.

There is no such thing as D-1 . . . there is DI, DII, DIII. And yes Uconn is DI FBS, and roughly 50 spots below the Bison and many other DI FCS teams in the Sagarin ratings at 94. Spending more money on scholarships doesn't equate to better football, it means to spend more money. If you are going to compare DI FCS to Alabama, please don't stop there. Make sure you compare Alabama to 95% of the other DI FBS teams also where the gap is also immense. If you do that, you are suggesting that only about 10 teams belong in DI FBS football, and you would be ignorant.

I agree, DI FCS is fake football. I'm even smug enough to through my own team under the bus to prove my point. I hate Christmas too, and santa isnt real.

You need 7 wins to make the playoffs, but if you lose more than that against top competition, it doesn't mean you are a bad team. Who is the best team out of Cal Poly, EWU, Montana St, and Sam Houston? Who had the most losses? So Sam Houston is crap because they lost to Baylor and Texas A&M . . . is that what you are telling me? Sam Houston is the best out of that group, and UNI scheduled in a similar fashion to Sam Houston, although they didn't get to play a Southland schedule. (would you like to see the Sagarin for the MVFC vs. the Southland?) Your logic is flawed. UNI at 92 is about right, and is a top 3-4 team in any conference this past year. Just scheduled themselves out of a playoff spot.

UNI's Sagarin ends the year at 92, putting them in the top 4 of both the Sky and Valley. How good you are depends on who they play, not your record.

Are we talking about then ncaa tournament softball team or the bison`s NC football team? Im confused, what does this have to do with gFU.

And yes, NDSU so far in DI is out-recruiting UND in every common sport with the exception of maybe VB, possibly womens BB. That could change in the future, but I expect that it wont change in the near future in FB and Men's BB, the two sports that count the most.

It's also amusing how Wofford is the next favorite team for gFU haters. That Fullback is a beast, so anything is possible if he gets going.

I think it would be best for und to wait until after the 2013 season. You want a shot at our senior class in 2013, really? You need to re-think. MN doesn't want to step on the field with NDSU until after 2013. Getting throttled in 2013 and leaving a bad taste in your mouth until the next game in 2018 might not be the way to go for und.

NDSU's 3-8 season was a result of a lost locker room due to players being kicked off the team, a D coordinator who did not see eye to eye with the head coach, and subpar QB play. NDSU did not have 3-8 personnel that year, save the QB . . . that team underachieved more than any team in the last 30 years.. PP led the nation in rushing, but the defense was lost, and the team was very undisciplined with penaties killing several games. A Defensive switch was flipped along with a winning attitude, and a winning recorded and playoff run were the result. Maybe UND can flip a switch, but it sure seems like the personnel is not there to make it happen. I hope you don't see NDSU's 3-8 as a beacon of hope, apples and oranges. If UND could flip a switch, it would be with a new coaching staff.

Ndsu was already gone, but und could have stayed and kept the ncc fully intact. Und's move destroyed the ncc and the potential state rivalries in Bismarck and Minot from being realized. I think a petition by the state legislature should have been pursued to keep und from destroying the ncc, unnecessary spending, and keeping rivalries together.

Bison fans love their football, and tthankfully the local media is smart enough to feed that hunger. While fcs football doesnt garner much attention until the championship, the streak the bison are on is getting some attention, along with a top 40 ranking. If you dont like the local media, it is easy to tune out, but no one can dispute what bison fb does for and too the city of Fargo. It gives it soul.

It is a large group of people with an employer who is partly responsible, for which charges like this likely won't stick. They will likely get a 1 game suspension as I have said before,just so people like you are shut up. You are starting to sound like a whiny little girl. I'd say let it rest.

Another "Signature" win by the Bison . . . I just blew Mtn Dew out my nose watching all 8 of those guys play again UNI. All 8 of them.

And I'm saying that your team would be 1-3 with that schedule also. If you are saying that UNI is a bad team, or that you should be ranked ahead of them, you would be wrong on both counts.

UND or NDSU would likely be 1-3 also or 2-2 at best with that schedule . . . are you kidding me? Iowa and WI would be L's, and Youngstown on the road would likely be an L also. UND would have no DI wins with UNI's schedule. Why UNI scheduled themselves virtually out of the playoffs is a head scratcher. They are not out of it yet though. Don't be fooled by their record. If YSU is a top 3 team, then UNI's performance thus far this year is top 10. Name another FCS that plays WI and IA to the end? Not many, not many.

And I was thinking that it has nothing to do with the quality of the teams. Just repeated a-holes moves followed by disassocaition was my theory. Last time I checked ndsu was not ducking anyone is fcs, let alone teams outside the top 30.

Whether or not they botched it, time will tell. If NDSU was a 500 team, we wouldn't be seeing a media frenzie, so part of the problem is the success on the field. What we know for sure is that the latest move up north was a complete in your face (und prespective), a-hole (ndsu perspective) move. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't expect a football game for another 10 years is my take away.

So I keep hearing, nobody knows what happened, no police, no charges, no paper . . . and the AD just said "you are suspended"? Is that all part of the transparency? Looks like a complete "we are better than you" move for display purposes only. Maybe they were just chewing gum in class but it was time for a public display. NIce job by the AD in GF kissing up to the masses. Nice strategy, good fodder for a new paper article or two on both sides of this move.
