  1. And you are entitled to your own opinion.. Fighting for what it right? Really? Does UND have approval from the tirbes? No. How are you fighting for what is right? If any (1 or more) members of the sioux tribe feel marginalized by the use of this moniker, an argument could be made for not using it. Obviously you believe in continuing its use, but that doesn't make it right.
  2. Minnesota beat both Iowa and Illinois last year. Before you throw them under the bus and put them in Idaho's league, you should acutally have to play them first. The bison played a really solid game to beat Minnesota (one of our best of the year) who was coming off a big win prior to our game. Idaho's league? You've got to be kidding.
  3. Sorry, but you just don't buyout a game against a MWC team. That would be a dream conf for ndsu at the fbs level. Getting a game against CSU is a great game, you simply do not buy it out, that is crazy talk and a very stupid move. Do i want to play OU? Your damn right i do, but not at the expense of thr CSU game. Either you add the game or try to schedule another year. I certainly have a different opinion than most Griz fans who told me directly on egriz that fbs games don't really matter to them. I say that a schedule w/o an FBS game is an empty and poor schedule. FBS games are not the prize, but they are a helluva lot of fun and a magnet for fan interest. Mn, Wy, IASt. and Ks have been electric and these games must continue.

    FCS Recruiting

I don't put too much stock in the 1993-2003 period where scholarships were reduced allowing everyone the ability to compete. Now that the schollys are back up, the bison are able to strech their legs a little bit.
  5. r OSU would get sanctioned, then it would be over. You would face a continuous saction, doesnt sound like much fun to me.
  6. Since when is it illegal or criminal for the Und president or any BSC president to express an opinion to the media. For the most part, they have simply expressed the opinion that keeping the nickname could be detrimental to Und. You seem to havea lot of opinions, whats the difference. It seems like your president is trying to save you from yourself, even though i know that you would much rather fall on your sword. As for what full sanctions would entail? I dont think you want to find out.
  7. So Georgetown University as a whole should be labeled DI-AA, including there BB program because they play DI FCS football? Western Michigan University as a whole should be labeled as DI-A because they play DI FBS football? What should Witchita State (withou football) be labeled? You are clearly so jaded with your head up you butt that it defies any human logic. How can one possibly stand behind such illogical arguements with a straight face. You are simply jaded beyond belief.
  8. Its not that difficult, 16 team playoff. 11 conf champs and 5 addl bids using the current FBS system. 44 addl teams outside the playoff could still play in bowls, and bowls could govern playoff games too. It doesnt need to be bowls or playoffs, it can be both.

    2012 Recruiting

I think this site gets what it asks for, with certain people posting comments about Ndsu, which you know will get a response fron Ndsu posters. Then when Ndsu poster actually respond to your leading or trolling comments, everyone is shocked and amazed that an Ndsu poster would spend time here, and how pathetic that is, and how important that makes Und. The whole circle is rather comical. Certainly some Bison posters beginning for attention, and certainly some Und posters who intentionally smack Ndsu to draw Bison posters to this site, who are also begging for attention. When one group bashes the other, it wreeks with irony, and is a good laugh for all. Its either a win-win or a lose-lose, i haven't decided.
  10. Quite honestly, MO State is a pretty good squad. You just cant survive a brutal schedule like that to start the year and generate any momentum. The are starting to play with confidence now, and are not an easy out. Take a look at their schedule vs yours or anyones for that matter. Hopefully their ad learned a lesson, and hopefully the bills are paid for next year.
  11. Or . . . if your own people are stealing from you, then the state might as well keep stealing from you too. So tell me, why does this issue have anything to do with the state's unexplicable underfunding of ndsu?
  12. If you think that a bison recruiting visit makes a single mention of your school, you are delusional. Maybe it did in 1990, but not today. If you have any proof to the contrary, let's here it.
  13. It's a nice thought, but in some cases "you can't go home". This is one of those cases I believe. There are many many reasons why Lennon would not or could not return to UND. Maybe Dale would be hired at the very end of his career, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
  14. The whole story is you are ranked 24th in the poll that everyone on AGS laughs at and ridicules for being completely out of touch. That is not bison fans, that is all fans throughout FCS football who are in the know. You then ranked 40th in the poll that fans on AGS consider to be the true poll. That is the whole story, but i guess everyone is too busy writing newpaper articles and slapping each other on the back to know the whole story about the coaches poll. Then, you fell 3 spots in this formentioned coaches after a 50 point win. How does that happen? That coaches poll is somthing else, you have teams who win by 50 free falling, team dropping out of the top 10 on bye weeks, and you have teams jumping 20 spots after toe to toe moral victories. You did ask for the whole story.
  15. I do not agree that Mason's program was in rapid decline. In Mason's last year, he had a .500 record and went to a bowl. Mason was a decent and confident coach, who had a fairly stable coaching staff. Mason's main problem was that he was arrogant and preferred to recruit outside of MN, not making the effort on in-state talent. That said, he knew how to coach on Saturday, he new how to win and his team competed. Contrast that with Brewster who was a terrible on-field coach, a terrible communicator with the media, and gave the opinion of someone that was completely delusional and fake. It took MN fans 4 years to figure it out, but he was the emperor with no clothes. His teams lacked preparation, confidence, effort, unity . . . basically everything required to be successful. The telling thing for me was when Brewster's assistant coach won games after Bewster was gone. Brewster's 1-11 team would have been .500 or better under Mason . . . easily.
  16. Yes, you are an ncaa member (a DII member). You won't get kicked out of the ncaa, but the ncaa must approve your membership before you are approved for DI. You don't get approved for country club membership by thumbing your nose at the board.
  17. To win a national title, you need 7 DI wins to get into the playoffs. You also want to test yourself which can be easily accomplished by playing FBS teams (also OOC games, right) and playing in a strong conference. Home games pay the bills and support the athletic department, certainly thats not hard to understand. What are you complaining about again, most of this stuff is just facts. If ndsu played its 3 OOC games all at home, all against weaker teams (ala Montana for years), then I would be upset . . . but that's not the case. NDSU's OOC games were scheduled as MN(road), Georgia Southern and Lafayette, until GS backed out and handed over some money. Do you have a problem with MN, GS, and Lafayette? As for the four DI football teams from the dakotas . . . come on darell, just look at the product on the field. I've seen them all play, and you are not being very objective. Your squad easily has the most work to do coming out of your transition.. Not a dig, just an objective evaluation, however these things can change from year to year. One game or bad losses (everyone has had them) is not part of this evaluation. Maybe this will be the turn around year for your squad, maybe that starts tomorrow. Time for you to be objective.
  18. Miami is DI. They are not asking permission from the NCAA to join DI. When you need the NCAA's permission, sign legal agreements, then back out on it repeatedly, why would a reaction by the ncaa surprise anyone. The moves by UND have been institutional if you consider the SBOHE and ND legisltature as an extension of the university, whereas the actions by Miami are not condoned by the university president and might be considered less institutionally driven than the situation at und. The ncaa president has spoken out in support of university leaders in Miami.
  19. If they file an injunction, the ND legislature might back away while legal action goes on for the next 3 years, thus cementing your sanctions and Independent afficilation with no conference. Yeah, what a great thing for UND. You didn't see the ND Law thing as anything but good until it smacked you in the face. Now this, you simply can't get out of your own way. This board must represent a 1% minority opinion, beacuase I simply can't believe that anyone with any sense would see this as positive.
  20. This is a good thing, how? How long is the Big Sky going to hang around if something comes out of this? You are waiting for both the NCAA and the Big Sky sign-off on membership. Hope you are feeling lucky, cause the future of your school depends on Big Sky membership. Without that you are a one trick pony, and you might as well be DII.
  21. The majority of people on this board where with Carlson in favor of the law, until the Big Sky conference spoke out against it. One poster on this board was boasting how the nickname issue meant nothing to the Big Sky, until he/she was stopped in mid-sentence by the Fullerton article. Until that article, the conventional wisdom was Al's state law, sanctions and sioux forever. Lots of short memories coming out now. I have no doubt that everthing will be resolved in UND's best interest by year end. That's all tha's important now. While Carson's earlier actions were not necessarily anti-Und, his recent actions are not good, and he needs to get out of the way.
  22. NDSU's football facilities are on par with those in the MAC or Sunbelt. There is no "need" to do anything to Go FBS. After you make that FBS commitment, strategic improvements would follow. No need to do anything to "GO" FBS. Getting closer to sellouts for every game is the Need right now.
  23. And I hope that UND continues to have the mentality that hockey is the only sport that really matters . . . that is good for NDSU. NDSU believes in a balanced approach to Division I athletics, and is very proud of the several top 10 national finishes in track and field, including a runner up national champion. Ncaa berths in soccer, softball, and volleyball do not take a back seat to football.
