  1. Watching your rival have unprecedented success and win over most of the state's support will make an administration change their tune pretty quick.
  2. Why are you so salty over the word firing? The coaching staff was turned over, 100%, I believe. Isnt that an indication that the athletic department wasnt happy with the current staff and how things were going or are you just arguing with me because I have Bison in my name? If Glenn truely retired and they were happy with the direction of the program, continuity on the staff would have carried the day. if bubba retired today, due to the direction of the program UND would be adamant about hiring an "inside guy" to keep the momentum rolling.
  3. Yes, he was told for years it was his job. Even when Glenn came in he was considered for that job, as it was told to him, Glenn was to come in as a mentor and stop gap until he was "ready". Glenn's early retirement and beschorner not getting that job was a clear message that they were unhappy with the direction of the program and it was time for wholesale change.
  4. lol, so let me get this straight, I called something a firing and you try to right that "fallacy" yet I'm the one who is going around and righting all the wrongs? I think your projecting my friend. Also, just because I have Bison in my name doesn't mean I don't know people in other programs. Short of name dropping which I won't do, you'll just have to trust that someone who was very closely tied to the USD situation is close to my family.
  5. What the heck would you call it when a guy is forced into early retirement and the heir that they had been grooming as his replacement for 10 years beschorner was let go? This was a firing and a starting fresh with a new staff, if you try to spin it any other way you'd be wrong.
  6. Maybe I should have put retired in quotations for you. Anyone who follows USD knows what happened in vermillion.
  7. Following the 2015 season, Joe Glenn retired and nobody was retained. You don't have google where you live?
  8. Yeah, USD was rising so much following that 24-21 win in 2015 that they decided to fire the entire coaching staff and start from scratch...that makes sense. 2015, USD beats NDSU, NDSU goes on to win national championship. 2016, USD loses to NDSU, NDSU doesn't win national championship. USD is improving, but to use USD games in 2015 and 2016 to show NDSU is slipping actually bolsters the opposite argument than what you are claiming it does.
  9. Thank you. What does every think about the QB's currently on the roster? Is studsrud's heir currently on the roster or will they need to do something there for the coming years?
  10. Your using information to support a claim with no frame of reference for that information. There are a million variables as to why one team in one conference would at this very moment have more defensive backs on the roster than another team in a different conference. I'm not going to take the time to do it, nor would you be able to find the information even if you wanted to find out, but to support what you think you've got me boxed in on, you'd have to see each team's roster in the conference and how much scholarship money is allocated to each player and if they actually contribute on defense or they are simply a special teamer. Are you disputing the fact that there are more teams in the big sky that run more 3-5 WR sets on a regular basis than there are in the MVFC?
  11. I wouldn't be able to respond with any knowledge unless you had the ability to tell me how many of those players are scholarship players and how much scholarship each player is getting. also, didn't UND just have a large influx of DB's in this recruiting class because they were "understaffed" at those positions?
  12. In fairness, last year for them was the first year with a brand new coaching staff and they certainly looked better than previous years. They certainly weren't the best representative of what the MVFC offers up for competition, but they seem to be moving in the right direction. 4-7 is still 4-7 though.
  13. Is there a projected depth chart somewhere heading into spring football?
  14. If I pull up UND's roster on their website right now are those class years updated or is it still showing last year's juniors and seniors?
  15. I wonder sometimes if people read the thread or if they just come in blind and comment with zero context because of posts like this.
  16. That's understandable and I agree to a point, though I believe that EWU would have been a real problem for UND last year had they met up.
  17. It's not known as a passing league but that doesn't mean teams can't pass well. You just won't need the depth at corner and safety in the MVFC that you need in the big sky.
  18. Yes UND has stopped the run, but the pass defense was so bad that it was easy for teams to just stop running the ball at some point and beat you through the air.
  19. If you say so, I guess we'll see how it plays out.
  20. There was never going to be another (fill in the blank) until there was. EWU will continue to find elite WR in the pacific NW, I think we both know that's true. Ive sat in on strategic recruiting meetings, trust me when I tell you these are conversations coaches have. It's all about winning the conference. Big 10 teams are building themselves as we speak to beat Michigan and Ohio state, SEC teams are practicing this spring to beat Alabama. Why do you think conferences tend to have teams that are built similarly if they have been conference mates for a long time. If Alabama ran the spread offense, teams would immediately be emphasizing pass rushing DE and lockdown corners in the sec, because alabama is built on the front seven being stout, so is every other sec team. Big 10 football was slow and methodical for the past 15 years, now urban Meyer brings Ohio state the spread and low and behold the rest of the big 10 starts to emphasize speed over power. It's not a mystery man, just look around and you'll see it.
  21. This is just how conferences work. Teams build themselves to beat their conference mates. Originally, NDSU built a team that could beat UNI so they could win the conference. They were the stud in conference so it's the way it goes. I would be willing to bet you any amount of money, that when bubba and staff look at UND's team, they ask themselves what do we need to do to beat EWU, the class of the big sky and then they set out to do it.
  22. So it's interesting that bubba is shoring up the defensive backfield, do you all think that might have anything to do with the fact that to win the big sky you'll have to beat EWU? Because if I look at your defensive backfield competing in the MVFC I wouldn't say the need to improve it is nearly as important. This has been my point since the beginning, of it were 3 years from now I doubt UND would be as concerned about shoring up the DB group, they won't find a Cooper Kupp and his crew in the MVFC.
  23. Losing tends to do that to 19 year old young men. Seems like an effect rather than a cause.
