  1. This whole idea of looking around the country and thinking one place is doing better than another is complete folly. Someone please point me to one area of our country that we can see some measure of impact our actions have had on the spread of this virus? Places that locked down, places that didn’t, places that had mask mandates early on and places that didn’t put mandates in place until later. Step back for a second without the partisan bias we all have and see that no matter what we do this virus eventually is running its course in all areas of this country. Nobody did it “the right way”, though I would argue that if the virus is going to make its way through a population anyway, why close businesses, just let people decide if they feel safe, take precautions that make you and your family comfortable for your particular situation and move forward. This is our only option, nobody or no thing is coming to save us here.

  3. Germany and France too
  4. Any of you left leaning folks want to amend your analysis of the European countries’ leaders handling this better than Trump as they head into lockdowns again tonight?
  5. Balance is quite different than what Hayduke offers the discussion. You at least bring discussion points at times and insults are minimal. He is a never ending stream of non-sensical and illogical insults.
  6. Clearly Trumps fault.
  7. Correct and we didn't see any major outbreaks among essential workers at least not in Minnesota.
  8. People have retreated to their corners on this one, but how can proponents of continued lockdowns and mandated restrictions not see what's happening around the world? Lockdown all you want and you're just kicking the can down the road. Protect yourself and protect the vulnerable and let the rest of us get back to keeping the country from collapsing. It's the only way forward on this one no matter how many emotional arguments get made about not caring about Grandma and Grandpa. It's the only way forward.
  9. Exactly. I've looked taken the approach in the last 4 or 5 months that the original message we received from leadership was the only pure message, meaning non politically driven. So look at the message in late march and you'll see exactly how this has played out. -We can't stop this virus, we only hope to not overwhelm the hospitals, so let's shut down for 14 days and ramp up PPE production to make sure aren't overwhelmed. -Cloth masks have almost no effect and can actually end up being detrimental because people will have a false sense of security, touch their face too often and not use it properly to have any effect(Osterholm quote)
  10. If only others would stop quoting him, then we'd really have something.
  11. Quick google search reveals there are 93 US attorneys at any given time assuming some of them weren’t assistant district attorneys. Given you are talking 60-65 years worth my quick math tell me the number of US attorneys that have been appointed over that time is quite large. 20 doesn’t seem like a significant number.
  12. Out of how many?
  13. I realize so many Biden voters are really just voting against Trump, but how many gaffes like this does it take for his voters to actually start to question his mental acuity? It's a daily occurrence at this point.
  14. I think it can be a bad thing yes. It has changed the way people view how much they can control your personal behavior. You're not sick, but you test positive for this virus or another one next year. You have to shut down your life and the lives of everyone around you for 10-24 days. That isn't a sustainable way to live.
  15. Are these votes already being tallied and published? Or will that all stay under wraps until next week?
  16. The tougher they are on the internet, the weaker they are in the real world. Nobody with any self respect or integrity as a man would post the things he does.
  17. We've never gotten the truth from our leaders, ever.
  18. That wasn’t the question. If the senate was controlled by the democrats, would a conservative judge have been confirmed today?
  19. Serious question, if it was a democratic senate right now, does ACB get confirmed?
  20. I would take any funds that are being used to battle this thing and put it towards resources for the elderly. Added PPE for long term care facilities, increased testing and tracing for these facilities and let everybody else get back to their lives.
  21. Not that hard to explain this. The states that re-opened with mask mandates by and large were states that the virus already significantly burned through in large metro areas.
  22. Be more like Jason, wear a mask that has 1 inch diameter holes in it. In fairness, his mask is as effective in lowering cases as the cloth one everyone is wearing.
  23. I think we all hope for that, but I just don't see it happening regardless of who wins. This country is headed for serious changes that I believe will result in states breaking away in the next 20-30 years. A country with two factions that are so far apart in their ideologies as ours is will only continue to move further apart and maybe that is for the best.
  24. So much uniting happening from Biden.
  25. Out of curiosity, what do you fear as it pertains to four more years of Trump?
