And a month from now when everybody comes back out from hiding, cases will spike. Just kicking the can down the road.

It’s also fair to ask if Canada is counting deaths in the same way the US is. Not saying they aren’t, I just don’t know if they are. Without knowing that, comparing deaths counts between the two isn’t going to yield much information.

https://twitter.com/SarahHuckabee The twitter handle in this screenshot isn't her official twitter handle, so it looks like a fake tweet that has been circulated.

I can't find verification on her twitter account that she even tweeted this. Seems to be fake news.

And what would account for the discrepancy of this type of ballot? Why would a Biden voter be more likely to not care about the rest of the ticket? If true, I'd like to hear a reasonable explanation for why a Biden voter would be by such a large margin more likely to not vote on the rest of the ticket.

I agree, I'm not as in depth in my knowledge of these types of relationships as some others may be, but I haven't seen anything compelling that shows this to be true. I will say, however, there seems to be a strong correlation between being a left leaning politician in the US and being much more globalist. Globalist even to the detriment of the American taxpayer at times. I find this trend disturbing. I'm all for economic and diplomatic cooperation among our allies internationally, but that should never be at the expense of signing documents that aren't in the best interest of our citizens.

I have no evidence to prove China did this on purpose, however, there isn't a single thing I would put past them at this point. So it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of Pfizer, but I have to imagine they have enjoyed many benefits over the years on the American taxpayers dime.(Tax incentives, tax abatement etc) The United States should have first access to medicines made by our companies. The American people have helped subsidize the R/D that went into creating this vaccine and other drugs.
-
I agree with this, but doesn't what you're saying only further prove what is being said about making an effort to secure the vote and build confidence for the American people? If every 2-4 years we have cries of foul and 70% of Republicans feel their was some measure of inaccuracy(right or wrong), then we have a real problem moving forward.
-
Call it voter suppression if you want to, but I'm of the opinion that you should have to make some sort of real effort to show you care enough to show up to vote.(outside of the circumstances you outlined) Putting that effort in shows you have at least a baseline of skin in the game and are much more likely to be thoughtful about your decision.

Here’s where the orange man bad narrative falls apart. If it was trumps ineptitude that has caused the United States to “respond poorly to Covid”, why are the European countries going through a second lockdown now as a result of their response? Or is trump to blame for that as well?
-
So masks don’t work and shouldn’t be used by the general public? You’re misinformed on what those three are on record saying sir.
-
I won’t buy into any cheating until I see something concrete, but your logic doesn’t follow necessarily. There are many ways to cheat that don’t involve an actual ballot being filled out.

Wrong, it was Osterholm and Fauci and Jerome Adams who sewed distrust in March.

And nobody has ever been hurt by a vaccine. People who think so are anti-science quacks. https://vaers.hhs.gov/ https://www.hrsa.gov/vaccine-compensation/about/index.html#:~:text=The National Childhood Vaccine Injury,be injured by certain vaccines.

Which city, state, country has handled Covid in a way that you think holds up as an example for how to manage this?

If something isn’t done to fix the rising cost of college, then this will be an incredible waste of money. Eliminating federally backed student loans would be a really good start to curb the problem.

Especially when each of those states have had vastly different responses. The fact that Minnesota is spiking at the same time as the Dakotas bolsters this argument. Minnesota had locked down just as hard as any of the east coast states and yet here we are with the highest numbers we’ve seen in Minnesota. I think it’s foolish to think that anyone has “done it right” or “done it wrong” each state has taken its licks in due time.
-
To answer that wouldn’t you have to do a comparative analysis of the states in question, with the variables being age and level of health prior to infection. A large percentage of the elderly population in both AZ and FL don’t live there in the summer. That has to be factored in.

What is your response to my thought that the Midwest is simply finally having the virus run its course here versus the coastal states when it happened earlier? That explanation is far more likely that ND and SD we’re doing everything right with the pandemic in May/June when the coastal states were spiking. So either ND did everything right early and New York did everything wrong and then they somehow flip flopped that. Or, my first explanation is better. Which do you think it is?

Hopefully following the unexpected down ticket losses the democrats had in the house, which they are blaming on the far left messaging, the leaders in the democratic party tell AOC and the rest of the squad to sit in the corner and keep their mouths shut.

Saying we will be transitioning away from oil is the ultimate politician speak. Forces zero timeline and can never be proven false. It's the epitome of saying nothing and the same trash I've hated about politicians my whole life.

I'm all for state autonomy, I think it's incredibly important. But what are the drawbacks of having a bit of standardization with the voting process? Seems like it has just lead to more problems than anything over the years.

Does anyone else find the naming of both our domestic and foreign operations to be hilarious? We are talking about arguably the most complex, sophisticated system in the history of the world(the US government) and they name things like they are five year olds at a birthday party. Operation Warp Speed, Operation Unicorn, Operation Paperclip, Operation Chattanooga choo choo.

What I find so interesting about human behavior(the market is a decent proxy for the mood of the country) is that the mere prospect of something positive can change behaviors even if in reality the parameters haven't actually shifted meaningfully. Flying was dangerous yesterday, but since the possibility of a vaccine came out this morning, people will be booking flights. Not AFTER the vaccine actually comes out, they'll feel safe to fly TODAY. It's really fascinating and truly does outline the power of information and how the media plays an enormous role in the mood of the country.
