Couple interesting things. SCSU is good, their basic style is not to trap, they actually play an up and down style which is fun to which.( I enjoy when we play St. Cloud and find it enjoyable hockey for the most part). But people then criticize the inability to beat the trap, which is only successfully beaten by... wait for it... the dump and chase. How do you skate through 4 guys staked from the top of the circles to the red line? You dump it, bust your ass, and get their first. Skating it past those 4 defenders only works if you're a a magician or Toews.

Like Rodwell? Panzarella? Saunders? 3 of those upperclassmen don't play. It is your statement that is a fantasy, not mine. And recruit wise? Blame the coaches for Matteau and Miller not keeping their word? sure seems fair, why not

Well this is stupid. Young is having a boat load of freshman, sorry that's a sore spot for you. Having 3 seniors means that the team isn't "old". There are a lot of young players playing key roles. Also, Eades wasn't let go because of results on the ice

in this i assume raw=young? that doesn't constitute their coaching being better than UND's.

One thing though. what the hell is MitchMac doing on the powerplay? I don't often question coaches but i didn't realize he was playing until midway thru the second period

I think among some of us(read: the people in my age bracket) the hate will remain the same. The games in the past 10 years were just so heated that a lot of us won't soon forget. Whether it be Wheeler's goal, Frattin's check on Wehr's, Porter's overtime winner, the postgame scrum, the final five comeback.. and upcoming loss in regionals. Too much has happened recently for it to just be forgotten. Anger fades, hate remains(can i get a patent for this?)

Sure the rivalry will change, but a lot of the players will still come from the midwest, most of them will play junior or high school hockey with or against each other. In the age of the internet where fan bases continuously compare themselves to one another rivalries don't just die anymore. If you wander over to the football thread NDSU is brought up numerous times and UND hasn't played them in quite awhile. Maybe I just grew up at the right time but i will always hate the gophers with a burning passion. Even against BC this past weekend, i consider them enemy #2, i was still happy that the gophers got screwed on the McCoshen play in overtime.

The Canadian education system clouds this a bit. Im not sure how they determine at what age someone enters school.. he's 7 months younger than Poganski and 2 months younger than Gersich and Wilkie as a mid september birthday his falls at a weird time.

In agreement with this. Panzarella was somewhere below Mattson, having no noticeable ability to shoot, pass, skate or comprehend a hockey game should probably put you in the seats. LaDue was solid, so were the other freshman but someone has to sit for Thompson tomorrow night. Coaches can worry about that.

There's a 10 page thread for the entire season, I think it is safe for now. The big sky tv webcast was great, got to catch the last half of the game. Awesome win ladies.
