probably... i'll be wearing a black sioux jersey and a blue columbus blue jackets hat.
-
game time an hour away. if the sioux win, there's a pretty good chance they'll move up to the 6th seed overall, which could send the gophers not to the ralph.

since she's not taking you up on the offer for free beer... just stop by fargo on your way to the cities and give me money to cover my beer for the weekend. thanks

a voter from grand forks says the UND athletic dept never gave him his ballot.... he said he would have voted for oshie for roy, and oshie/toews/lee/chorney for rookie team. not sure if that one vote for oshie would have tied things up... but would have been nice.
-
only count league games, since it's a league award. raymond is up one point on toews in league games. and raymond plays for a team that blows... so on a good team, he'd be better. i'd love for toews to have it, but raymond is also deserving.

That could be one option... or it could be that the Sioux were firing on all cylinders all year, but hit a bump in the road. The sioux/scsu games earlier this year were very close, even when the Sioux played some of their best ball. However, if you can't shoot and can't rebound, you're not going to win. Especially in the playoffs, where you're playing the best of the best and not some teams you can beat up by 50.

slacker. i think everyone on this board will agree we'd rather see much less of your posts, if it means jfr gets to see some sioux hockey. especially if it means less of you

If it's still available, i might be interested

You've had some good posts so far, but this one is as dumb as they get. Oshie was drafted as an unkown high school kid from a small MN school. Last year's draft class was/is way more talented than this years class. Not only was last year's best player better than everyone this year, but most of the top 5 are better than this year's best player. Oshie surpassed expectations on a freshman-heavy team... you can't deny that. Kessel comes in as a possible savior to USA hockey. The hype over Kessel has driven had driven his stock up well before last year's draft. He probably would have gone 10-15 last year. In a lower talented draft, he'll be a top 3 pick, possibly #1. Kessel spent a year at UM and lived up to expectations. He scored points when people expected him to score points... albeit with lots of upperclassmen to help him out. Were Oshie not drafted last year and the two were available this year... Kessel would be in the 1-3 spot and Oshie would be a top 10, most likely 7-9. In a draft class that isn't as talented as the past couple, that's not a huge difference in skills.

i'm bored... so i'm going through oshie's goals. if he scored a gwg and then the sioux won the game by 1 goals or less (not including eng) i will count that as an important gwg. dec 16 vs bemidji ok, so after going through the w's in which UND won by 1 goals or less, it seems that oshie has just one "important gwg." here are potulny's important gwg stats: feb 17 vs denver so potulny also has just one gwg that "matters" and since i was still bored and surprised by that, i decided to take a look at potulny's/oshie's/kessel's goals and if they are helpers (helping overcome a deficit) or piling ons (just adding meaningless goals). potulny nov 11 vs uaa - (1 goal) nov 25 vs mich - (1 goal) jan 13 vs UND - (1 goal) feb 10 vs tech - (1 goal) feb 25 vs uaa - (2 goals) mar 4 vs umd - (1 goal) 7 of 34 for 20% of his goals are meaningless. oshie oct 8 vs miami - (1 goal) nov 11 vs umd - (1 goal) dec 2 vs tech - (1 goal) dec 17 vs bem - (1 goal) jan 20 vs man - (1 goal) feb 17 vs umd - (1 goal) mar 11 vs man - (1 goal) 7 of 22 for 31% kessel oct 21 vs man - (1 goal) nov 25 vs mich - (1 goal) jan 28 vs wis - (1 goal) feb 25 vs uaa - (1 goal) mar 11 vs uaa - (1 goal) 5 of 17 for 29% and just for fun, kessel's meaningless assists: nov 11 vs uaa - (4 assists) jan 7 vs niagara - (1 assist) jan 13 v UND - (1 assist) feb 18 vs du - (2 assists) mar 11 vs uaa - (1 assist) 9 of 30 for 30% ok, now i'm done.

if you guys don't mind another sioux fan at your table... i'll be there.
-
i'm more concerned about being left out than possibly getting a #1 seed. i hope northern michigan's players all get the flu.
-
great run... but they had to lose sometime. too bad that it was because UND sucked at shooting and not because it was a close game.
-
game is sold out... great to hear especially for a monday night during spring break. start out strong ladies and take it to them all night.
-
that doesn't look like it's out of a question. with the sioux's luck with umd beating du, i wouldn't rule it out. i guess the toughest part will be convincing miami and bu to just roll over.
-
i played around with the pairwise predictor... and if all of the favorites win their games in all the leagues, except UND loses to Wisco and St. Cloud, the Sioux drop to a tie at 14th with New Hampshire. That doesn't make me feel too happy. Although, it would drop them to a 4 seed and send the Gophers to Wisco most likely. I also checked and there are several instances where UND could easily be a 5 or 6 seed without a lot of upsets happening, which also could send the Gophers to a different seed and bring Miami or BU to the Ralph. Throw BC in with BU and we'll just have a big ol Beanpot rematch.
-
yes, but the gophers are fully capable of dominating the bulldogs.
-
As much as I love UMD and am extremely glad they beat Denver, I have to think that the ultimate goal for the Sioux is to win the Final Five. The best chance for that to happen is if SCSU beats UMD and then Geophert steals a game against the Gophers. Three games in three days two weeks in a row is pretty tough to do, and if UND beats Wisco, then the Sioux would get a tired SCSU team. Plus, the Gophers would then lose to Wisco, as Elliott steals a game and so the Gophers begin their post-season spiral into a first round ncaa loss, to bemidji.
-
if UMD won the final five, they'd become a TUC and would actually help UND out.
-
yes, they were pretty much into the ncaa's with the w last night. this secured their spot. buy away sioux fans, buy away.
