Just like years past, we will probably find out on Friday (...late Friday of course) that someone called someone and someone decided that the game must be shown live here in the midwest... so until about 1 1/2 hours before gametime on Saturday... we should all post the positive and not rant until we KNOW we are screwed as the latter is nothing but bad Karma. I have taken off the rose-colored glasses and will put it simply like this (and this was echoed on the selection show today). The Sioux will go as far as goaltending will take them. They probably only need "average" goaltending but anything less and they are sunk. And, although I love the whole Toews is better than Johnson "fact or fiction" part of the show today - and I think Toews is the prototypical career NHL type - the "best" player in the country right now is Curry or Duncan and I wish Duncs would have at least gotten a little press on the national show since I am sure he will get the shaft for the actual Hobey Baker Award...

I know this will stir the oats a bit, but is there any chance you could do it somewhere a little closer to downtown St. Paul for those of us who have a wife who have to drive us to St. Paul that morning to watch the game and they have to watch the kids all day only to join them later in the evening for St. Patricks Day and will want to know why I am having her drop me off WAY north of downtown St. Paul where I have convinced here I need to go and EARLY!!! If willing to consider it, I would propose something alone the lines of: Champps St. Paul Phone: 651-698-5050 Fax: 651-698-3393 2401 W. 7th St. St. Paul, MN 55116 It is still on W. 7th St. (i.e. same street as McGovern's, Tom Reid's, Mancini's, The Liffey and everything else around the X) albeit some 3 or 4 miles to the West of the X. However, it is a sports bar and is open (I would assume) at or around 11 and would still be within ear shot of the X for those who want to really get - for lack of a better word - prepared for the games. I just checked the affillate list of ESPN.com and USCHO is not there. I feel much shame. PCM, as always *** and as UNDLAW looks for his wakizashi sword or a tantō knife to commit Harikari*** you were right. BANZAI!!!

Be nice to Siouxdonyms as we all know that USCHO is an affillate site with ESPN and ESPN - if they so choose - could easily tell USCHO what stories they "should" be covering which may or may not result in an over-coverage of all things east coast.

Under the NCAA guidelines, once you get a on a plane (and, yes, "can" be paid for by the NCAA) a flight is a flight and they will send you 2000 miles away instead of 350 miles away on that plane if they justify it under the general notions of assuring "competitiveness" and "attendance" and... well it always boils down to $$$ but you get the picture.

From a pure "hockey fan" perspective, I want to see UND, U of M, Wisco and SCSU. St. Paul would run out of beer if they weren't overstocked for St. Patrick's Day. From a pure "Sioux Hockey Fan" perspective (*** UNDLAW puts on his rose-colored glasses ***) I hope the Gophers and JBSU take it in the shorts tonight and Wisco plays their last game of the year on Thursday (*** UNDLAW takes off his rose-colored glasses ***).

Haven't you ever seen Bull Durham. They memorize what to say ahead of time (unless you are JT and get interviewed after winning the World's in a shootout!) so they don't make a$$es out of themselves. Or, I suppose, they could just be smart and articulate and like each other... but I am learning toward the Bull Durham explanation...

Or, the refs make the appropriate "but you were asking for it" and only hand out suspensions for the rest of that game and not the next as well... which should be an option if a team with nothing left to play for starts gooning it up and baiting and running goalies.

Oh The Heraldo... I sure do miss reading it! Was The Herald taken over by a large Mexican publisher? Seriously though, BSU is a great fit for geographical reasons and we were saying the same thing about MSU not many years ago. And, although it does mean less games again UMtc and Wisco and Denver and CC and SCSU... it alse means LESS GAMES agains UMtc and Wisco and Denver and CC and SCSU. Say what you want, but look at a few of the teams ahead of us in the PWR right now... they benefit HUGELY from not having to beat or get beat by the #s 1-10 SOS all year leaving us all hovering between .700 and .500 winning percentage. And, I think if we added BSU they would immediately become SOS #11, so... no harm no foul. Welcome BSU, hang your coat by the door and let me grab you a beverage!

Amen. I was three rows from the ice and watching with my father and brother-in-law who just didn't see the magic in that win.
