Funny, I grew up in Central ND same time frame.....never expected or demanded any of what we are discussing and neither did the guys I grew up with. We were afar from.perfect but were not raised with that mentality.

Not disagreeing on the parenting side of the equation but there are other factors...two namely being "socio-economic equality" and "wealth redistribution"....and this feeds into less than stellar parenting. Just had a "new American" mother and daughter into my place of employment yesterday. Demanding of services and product.......and thought it ALL should be free. This happens more than most care to imagine.

Because the concept of personal accountability/responsibility has beed eroded over the past decade plus and replaced with the concept of "who is going to take care of me". To think this has not been further fostered since a certain someone took over the White House is ignorant.

Your last statement is the biggest issue left in this nickname eqaution and with the complete lack of leadership I have seen from anyone on this committee my opinion is the "will of the people" means little to the "we know what is best" from the committee. I was expecting a whole lot more from Karl, Dave and Lowell.

You are assuming Ridas is in the top 3 at the end............from what I have seen and heard the consulting firm will make it's best pitch to make sure that isn't the case and unfortunately I don't see enough people on the committee with the stones to disagree with what the consultants are pushing.
