Almost his entire coaching career has been focused on UND hockey. I guess I’m not gonna fault a guy that bleeds green his entire life. I’m willing to give him a chance and see how he does at the helm.

This part. They can commit at anytime. Although it seems that many of the higher end players are waiting until after their CHL seasons are over before announcing the commitment. So we may see a rash of them once those seasons end.

I read it as him saying if he was more career-focused, he would have accepted a HC job when he was offered previously. But he loved UND and GF so he stayed.

Been real quiet for new recruits, portal additions, and CHL mentions. Really nothing since Zakreski. My hope is that Bryn gets announced early next week and we start to see some roster additions shortly thereafter. We have about 8 spots to fill (6F, 1D, 1G) as of now.

Good goalie pickup for them, he has very solid numbers but very minimal actual playing time.

Waldron from Miami is heading to ASU. He was Miami's best player from my viewing of the Miami/UND games.

BU really buying up the forwards. Wonder if Misa is still planning on heading there too…that was the hot rumor a few months ago.

If two come in of those four I’d think it would be Schultz and O’Neill.

Was wondering about him as well. Same thing as Whitelaw where he’s going for his 3rd team in 3 years, so unsure.

Any player that is committing this soon after the portal opens already knew their destination prior to entering the portal. And if the rumors are true that Berry wasn’t doing much recruiting prior to his departure, then it makes sense that we don’t have any portal commits yet.

Jumping ship is jumping ship, I guess.

So much for all those UMN fans calling us Portal U the last couple years. They’re gonna need quite a few portals…I’m not sure their coaching staff can snag CHL commits as well as others.

If anyone is planning on making the trip to AZ for next years ASU/UND series, you can start looking at travel arrangements for the weekend of Jan 23/24.

That might be hard with the character limit.

I wonder if the NCAA will ever get a handle on this portal / NIL nonsense. Like a one-time portal entry per player, and then any other time they need to sit for a year. And a cap on NIL. Hockey is a few years behind football/basketball, but it's only a matter of time before it gets really bad.
