  1. From a team that finished 6th in the conference last year in scoring. All those players are now a year older, but I still pick our and DU's depth far above them at forward. How do you really feel about Wolanin and Gardner?
  2. He has Duluth at third, which I just don't see with all the seniors that they lost. Anything can happen, but I think they struggle for home ice. SCSU at 2nd...I know everyone is talking about how good their d-corps will be, but I'm just not seeing the offensive depth...especially when compared to DU and UND. My thoughts...I think DU wins the league (not a hard conclusion with what they return), but I think UND has the best chance at 2nd and could be mighty dangerous come playoff-time.
  3. I remember that as well. He really gave us a fun preview of the type of player he would be for his entire career at UND. I swear I found the clip of that play on YouTube at one point in time, but I looked for it a few months ago and couldn't find it any longer.
  4. To be fair, they could have shown 10 clips each of just Osterberg and Toninato from UMD last year, but that would have made the video monotonous.
  5. There's not a single player on the team that cares what UND is charging for admission to any of the games.
  6. From my sources, Frazee was next in line if Hrynkiw didn't accept.
  7. If these were verbals from WHL drafted kids that come from Nova Scotia, I'd be right there with you. But these are all local-ish kids (the most recent commits). I see all these kids ending up at UND...and some of them being excellent collegiate players.
  8. He hasn't even played HS hockey yet. I think with how he performed at the Select 15's, his stock went way up for both college coaches and scouts. His list of college offers reflect that. But, of course, UMN "didn't want him anyway" and BU "didn't expect him to go in the 1st round, so they recanted their offer"...
  9. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capitals-insider/wp/2017/06/28/prospect-shane-gersich-intends-to-stay-at-university-of-north-dakota-for-another-season/?utm_term=.76e2ad31af35 Glowing praise of Gersich from the Caps development camp. Sounds like they want him in their system sooner rather than later.
  10. Never. According to GPL (where I go for most of my UND-related fact checking), our entire roster is almost always 95% Canadian, and 85% of those are over the age of 26.
  11. That year turned out horrible for UND.
  12. Crazy that BC didn't "make it work" for him. Big loss to their incoming class. Wonder where he'll end up now? A late add to a different NCAA program or MJ?
  13. He's going to be an excellent hockey player for the Gophers. But man, I laughed out loud when I read that he didn't record a single pull-up.
  14. Oh man, sad day. I have Brad Miller's game-worn black Sioux jersey #13 when they had past Sioux players names on the shoulder that had previously worn the same number. So it's a Cherski/Miller jersey. I thought that was pretty cool when I got it.
  15. They don't have any roster space until 2025-2026 season though with all their committed recruits. Not sure he wants to wait that long.
  16. They must be anticipating losing half their roster that year.
  17. He joined the other 73 committed UW players for the next couple seasons. Granato is following the Eaves mantra: "just sign them all!"
  18. I've wondered that as well. He didn't exactly have good success at OSU...only 6 pts in essentially one season (only played 3 games Soph year before going BCHL). He's done great in those two BCHL seasons though. Excited to see what he brings to the table.
  19. Article on Wilkie transferring from the CC Gazette: http://gazette.com/north-dakota-forward-chris-wilkie-transfers-to-colorado-college-hockey/article/1602824 He took a little longer to adjust to the college game than originally anticipated with how his last USHL year went, but he might have been one of those players that really blossomed in his jr/sr years. With the depth at forward that UND will have next season, he might have been worried about watching too many games from the stands. He has a great shot though, just couldn't get it off as much as we'd have liked. Best of luck at CC, Chris...unless you're playing against your old team.
  20. http://techhockeyguide.com/news/2017/5/2/whos-next-dane-jackson MTU blog just naming potential candidates for their hc position. I doubt Jackson is looking to leave when he had the opportunity to leave with Hakstol, but maybe he wants his own NCAA HC job? Doubtful he would go though I would guess.
  21. Someday I hope to have enough money to where my daughter can sue me for $200+ million.
  22. That's a horrible question to ask...who are you going to miss the least. Just a question to stir up drama.
