  1. Chyzyk and Smaby will guide him our way, hopefully.
  2. Maybe they already did, and the answer was more & better weights.
  3. The USA U18 team lost in the championship game today, 6-4, to Sweden...despite outshooting Sweden 51-15. That USA team was loaded. But they couldn't overcome Sweden scoring on almost half their shots.
  4. Looks like he's headed to Vermont.
  5. I wonder if they lose any other recruits or players if Pearson gets the boot. They've already lost a ton this off-season, but they probably have the best incoming class in the country at this point.
  6. I heard that as well. DU picked up a couple quality portal forwards in Dornbach from Harvard and Broz from UMN. Broz is raw but has talent, he could be a great jr/sr player for DU. Those two won't replace Brink and Savoie, but will help fill in some forward gaps. Still no word on Stapley and Guttman (that I've seen) on if they'll move on or use their COVID year to go back for a 5th season. If those two return, DU will definitely be good once again.
  7. He's talking about Berry's son (on the U16 team), not the forward that just committed.
  8. Those numbers are pretty darn impressive when you consider the team that was playing in front of him.
  9. If it’s true that Cruz is decommitting as well, that means they’ve lost two players to portal, one signing a pro contract, and one lost recruit all in two days.
  10. They also did tweets for Bast and Hellsten recently now as well.
  11. Especially unexpected blue chips. It's one thing for Sanderson or Pinto to leave, as they had already proven that they were ready for the next level. It's like when Jost left UND after his freshman year, I suppose. But Jost had a better frosh year than the Gopher pair combined. Most UMN fans would have had Lucius and Broz penciled into their 1st/2nd lines for next season...so I would definitely say it is a loss for them. They return most of their d-corps, so they'll for sure be solid. But they'll be relying on Knies and hoping that their freshman forwards all get acclimated right away to the NCAA game for offense.
  12. That's my guess on the third negative. Then I wonder what the fourth negative that he alluded to would be.
  13. Lucius signed and Broz entered the portal.
  14. I wonder if this opens up the door for Spicer to stay somewhat close to home and go to UMN now. He already has a couple teammates heading there next season and they are suddenly in need of some more forwards.
  15. Wonder if his bro even ends up at UMN now.
  16. Wow, there have been rumors about Lucius (and his family) being upset at UMN for whatever reason...many thinking that he would leave or enter the portal after his freshman season. He just signed with the Jets. UMN lost two 1st/2nd round freshmen today alone.
  17. 2nd round pick Tristan Broz from UMN (only a freshman last year) enters the portal. He seemed to struggle a bit last year but some good upside for his upperclass years in college.
  18. I wouldn't understand the logic of James going MJ at this point, especially when all signs show that he will be coming in this fall to UND anyway. Maybe if UND wanted him to wait a year as well, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
  19. He’s ramping up his effort now. Has to impress any potential suitors.
  20. And there it is: Budy enters transfer portal https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-forward-brendan-budy-enters-transfer-portal?fbclid=IwAR26tFgEeswvT8rygZHRDffQxzzeFLcYy_VGECqELtauJWqohcK_S_rruJc The move we were somewhat expecting. Now that leaves us at 16F if we bring in all four freshmen forwards.
  21. I like that addition to the schedule and playing a new team like Lindenwood. Even cooler that is has the UND connection with Zombo coaching them. I'm more excited to see a fresh face on the schedule rather than Bemidji again. As long as this doesn't happen again:
  22. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/college-hockey-coaches-hear-about-the-potential-transformation-of-ncaa-sports Lot of changes being discussed at the coaches convention: These changes would definitely benefit the bigger "blue blood" programs compared to the smaller.
  23. Right? That's crazy. 5 goals in two seasons with UND (48 games) 6 goals in two seasons with WMU (71 games) He's been playing in Poland ever since his NCAA career ended. A couple guys on that list had immediate impacts in NCAA hockey...others took a year or two to get up to speed. But none of them just disappeared like Cichy.
  24. From Schloss: Certainly some offensive talent coming in next year. It'll be fun watching them progress and seeing how well their game translates to the college level.
