Speaking of Perron. He looks small and shifty. I like it. Pair him with Blake and Gaber (should he return) and they could do some damage as long as they could play the defensive side as well. Our core group of younger forwards should be very good over the next couple years...if the coaches can figure out the goaltending and defensive woes, we could see some good teams.

Yeah I'm confused by that as well. Oh well, looks to be a solid commitment for next season.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
brianvf replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
The only time we should mention him should be in reference to his loss against UND in the 2001 NCAA semi-final, a day before his robbery of Panzer was announced. http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0001/boxes/mmsundk1.a05 The absolute best part of that entire day was listening to the announcers talk about how he was so good that his teammates couldn't even score on him in practice...and then watching Spiewak score literally a minute into the game. -
I hope that all of 4, 6, & 24 return and none enter the portal as has been discussed here. IMO, our success next season hinges on the decision of 15 & 17 and the coaches ability to pick up a quality goalie (either from portal or recruit).

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I don't think you have to worry about that...most of the time UND players don't even win the Hobey when they do deserve it. -
For sure. We've had a horse-crap of a season, but we're still only 5pts behind CC. We're not getting home ice for sure, but 5th place is not out of the question at all. That'd put us at UNO or WMU for 1st round...which I would take over a trip to SCSU/DU any day...even if the end result is still probably gonna be the same since we can't win 2 games in a weekend to save our lives.
-
I'll one up you and say they go 4-6 to finish the NCHC regular season. We'll see.
-
That'd be my guess too. Benoit has 47 PIM and is a -21 on the year...he'll fit right in.
-
They already have for four games...might as well make it a clean sweep of 8 games, with UND going 0-8.
-
Was Spicer ready though? UMD needed a forward, as they lost a ton of forwards last offseason. We already had four freshman forwards that were more ready to come in than Spicer. If we had brought Spicer in this year just so we didn't lose him, he would be sitting more often than not...then he just would have entered the portal after this season anyway.
-
That's crazy about QU, losing only one game all year and then losing twice this weekend. QU lost to a toothpaste. Harvard lost to a color.
-
Sure we can. The opponent just has to be Holy Cross or Lindenwood.
-
Don't worry, almost there.
-
Count that as another epic fail loss, similar to the UNO, Miami, ASU, etc etc etc. Team took an entire period off and still could have won it. They won't have that luxury against DU and SCSU. Back to 7th place in the league. I'm guessing that's where we finish, then get sent to DU/SCSU for a 2 game sweep in round 1.
-
And now cue the ENG for UMD to wrap up the win...
-
I guess that's what happens when you take off the first 25-30 minutes of the game.
-
1-2 That's game.
-
Another PK Giving them every chance to get the win.
-
PK not good timing
-
As are probably Strinden and possibly Owen/James/Blake due to their size and strength needed. Plus, Spicer has already shown that he wants to move up leagues despite not being ready.
-
I think all four of our freshmen forwards have a higher collegiate upside than Spicer.
