  1. Oh my did he miss a WIDE open net for the tie.
  2. Understand your reasoning. Makes sense for both UND and you. I think you'd be a perfect fit for a program like Anchorage, Bemidji, maybe UMass-Lowell if you go east coast. Best of luck moving forward!
  3. Cornell not mounting much offense this period. They're gonna need a break to fall their way to tie this one up.
  4. Not Blake personally, but a couple people (including Brandt) mentioned that he's told others that he wanted to come back for another season.
  5. There easily could have been a penalty called on DU to go 4x4 as Cornell was trying to clear the zone early in that PP.
  6. 2-1 DU with 4sec left
  7. And now another one.
  8. I don't think it matters with BC, they're just too good. BU vs MN, BU is the lesser of two evils there. Agreed on MSU, would rather they advance than UM. DU vs Cornell, I'm torn. I like to see NCHC do well, and it sucks that they're the last team standing. But...it's frickin DU. DU losing would be karma for that dolt on here last night trying to get UND fans to sell him some F4 tickets. He said that NIL would ruin UND. If anything, NIL would ruin DU long before UND...UND alum and fans actually care about hockey, DU doesn't even have fans to begin with.
  9. A home and away series schedule with Maine would be pretty sweet. I’d consider going to that away series.
  10. I don’t really see a correlation between the two. You can celebrate conf and tourney championships along the way, with the end goal still being a national title. Enjoy the moment and the effort it took to accomplish one goal, but then move on to the next goal. Unfortunately this team didn’t achieve the other two goals, but I don’t think it was because of his reaction to accomplishing the first goal.
  11. From the portal: Basse (G) had three sub .900 years (two at CC, one at SCSU), and then one good year at SCSU. If you can get his 22/23 SCSU season again, he'd be decent. Israels (F) from UAF had 20 goals this season and was a 2-yr captain for them. Will (F) from CC put up ok numbers and is good at faceoffs...also a 2-yr captain. Risk (F) from UAF with nice numbers his whole college career and still has 2 years of eligibility remaining. Lovell (D) from ASU put up a pt/gm as a D, I'm sure he'll be courted by many big programs We'll see more quality players pop up as more teams see their seasons coming to a close.
  12. Yeah I was wondering about that...CHN has him listed as a junior on both the stats/roster pages. Modified.
  13. If both he and Blake come back, then we're set. We saw this year that Persson has talent...like you said, he had his moments. Keep that rolling for a year and see what the team can do.
  14. He won how many NCHC goalie of the week awards at the beginning of the season? Then I don't think he won another one the rest of the year (that I recall). Add in his injuries/illnesses, and it was a rough 2nd half for him for sure. Of course, he could come back for another year if he wanted, but it sounds like that won't happen.
  15. My Projection based on current info: Forward (15): GR - Jamernik SR - Berg, Kunz, Schmaltz, Montgomery JR - Blake, McLaughlin, James, Strinden SO - Perron FR - Swanson, Boisvert, Croal, Littler X - Portal Defense (8): JR - Zmolek SO - Livanavage, Wiebe, Benoit, Komzak FR - Jubenvill, Strathmann, Emery Goalie (3): JR - Johnson SO - Hedquist X - Portal I think (similar to when we did this last year) that next year has the potential to be a better team than this year. Both offensively and defensively. You lose a dependable scorer in Gaber and a hustle/grit guy in Johannes, but I would expect big years from all the forwards in that JR class and then also for Perron to have a similar improvement like what OMac had from his FR to SO year. Kunz really stepped up his game 2nd half...a VandeVelde type SR year from him would be great. Two elite forward frosh that should impact immediately. Find a diamond in the rough portal grab like Johannes again that can contribute and that is a skilled forward group. Defensively, Zmolek/Livanagage/Wiebe are the steady core and then add in three very skilled frosh. Strathmann played an extra year of juniors, so I'd expect him to be able to be a reliable/steady dman from the opening puck drop. Emery is a beast. Add in an experienced portal grab for injury insurance or if Benoit/Komzak hit the portal. Goalie is the only real unknown. Hedquist showed that he can play at this level, but you still need someone to push him for playing time. Portal grab for a year until Heil is ready to come in the following year would be ideal.
  16. Similar to how people like to say that anybody could have coached the 2016 team to the final...the 2011 team was the same way. Wilbur and I could have been behind the bench and made it just as far with the 2011 team.
  17. They're UMD fans, they know all about failure already.
  18. Truly a disappointing end to a season that showed so much promise at times. You could see things coming off the rails in the second half against CC and UNO. Berry and Co are gonna need to take a hard look at how things have been progressing as a program lately and make some changes. The tourney results since the last title don’t lie.
  19. Maybe Zellers coming in next year as well? That was mentioned in the Recruits thread. He put up a pile of points, but def a big jump from Shattuck to NCAA.
  20. Swanson looks to be the playmaker and Boisvert the finisher. Depending on how quickly they can adapt to the college game. Hopefully Perron finds another level next season and OMac continues his progression. Despite Gaber disappearing at the end, we’ll still need to replace his goals and Johannes hustle/grit.
  21. Right? Something was off with Gaber for a bit. Def wasn't playing like himself.
  22. Pyke being out def didn't help. He usually plays more minutes than anybody on the team. Then they shortened the bench more with Benoit, so they were essentially running 4 D.
  23. I'd like to think he'd be smart enough to stick around another year, but who knows with kids these days. He sure got knocked off the puck easy at times (this game and all year). Another year of strength conditioning could do wonders.
