They missed too many damn corners this past weekend. Dang how many posts did they hit on Friday alone, like four? Time to put the shooter tutor back on the nets for practices.
-
I sure hope so, both for the team confidence and for posters here.

A few players with UND connections on that list. Graney from Hazen is the kid of a girl I graduated HS with...would be cool to see him get a college look.

Little update on Pehrson injury...no timeline though: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/unds-home-and-road-splits-evident-on-defensive-end -
I don’t think they’ll fade away…I just don’t see them winning all 6. That said, I’d love for them to prove me wrong.
-
Ah yes, the mythical fans that people always talk about that seem content with losing...yet we never see these supposed fans.
-
I just don't see a scenario where we win all 6 remaining games. WMU is a tough team this year with a potent top line (again)...I could see us dropping points there. UNO always seems to save their best games for us, and we'll be on the road too. While I think we could still win the Penrose even if we drop points to those teams, after what we witnessed this past weekend, I'm not optimistic. That said, we're still in the driver's seat for the Penrose...boys just need to play like they did against DU.
-
That loss moves UMass outside the NCAA cutline, they're now at #15.
-
This stat is crazy to me: They have the same number of losses to CC as the entire rest of their schedule.
-
For sure, a lot of shots that didn't make him move or make it easier to get a rebound on him. I don't remember many instances at all where he was called on to make a "difficult" save, most were right into him with little or no screen. If you're gonna beat a goalie of his caliber, you need to get guys in front of him and take away his eyes. I still can't believe that 3rd period implosion last night. They had the opportunity right in front of them to salvage the entire weekend...and instead just watched it turn into another rout.
-
I noticed all the empty seats in the 1st/2nd period. Not just once CC had the lead in the 3rd. Must have been "paid" attendance vs "actual" attendance.
-
4-1 and 6-4 losses to DU (2016) just hit different than 7-1 and 6-2 losses to CC this season. Coincidentally enough, that 2016 team also played UMD at home the following weekend after getting swept in CO. The 2016 team swept UMD. If we do the same to UMD next weekend, then we can start talking comparisons.
-
UMN scored 10 goals against CC in a two game series in January. UND scored 7 goals against CC in a four game season series. So frustrating. UND just can't beat this CC team this year. CC is still certainly a bubble team for the NCAA's (got a nice jolt this weekend, for sure), but if they make the NCAA's I want nothing to do with them. They have UND's number this year, and it's not even close.
-
I'm gonna be pretty annoyed if Omaha takes it to them next weekend after what just happened this series.
-
Agreed. I think 2016 is technically a Rube Bjorkman title. You could see his influence all over that team.
-
We dropped one spot (to #3 in the PWR) and are still 1st in the NCHC.
-
No worries. I just didn't see it happening either way.
-
I can't believe all the empty seats. First time ranked in how many years and they can't even get butts in the seats? That said, their chant is accurate.

This made next weekend more interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if Duluth takes a game or two. Team is playing like trash entering the stretch run...
-
There was no reason to pull the goalie there at all. Don't understand that. We weren't scoring three goals regardless...they've barely scored three goals in two complete games.
-
Penrose doesn't matter anymore, UND isn't winning that. I'm more bummed that they're playing themselves into a #2 seed when this year in particular makes for a MUCH more challenging first game.
