Any player that is committing this soon after the portal opens already knew their destination prior to entering the portal. And if the rumors are true that Berry wasn’t doing much recruiting prior to his departure, then it makes sense that we don’t have any portal commits yet.

So much for all those UMN fans calling us Portal U the last couple years. They’re gonna need quite a few portals…I’m not sure their coaching staff can snag CHL commits as well as others.

I wonder if the NCAA will ever get a handle on this portal / NIL nonsense. Like a one-time portal entry per player, and then any other time they need to sit for a year. And a cap on NIL. Hockey is a few years behind football/basketball, but it's only a matter of time before it gets really bad.

There are 25-35 other players in the portal already that could put the puck in the net the same as Whitelaw without bringing on the drama baggage. Not to mention the CHL players that will start dropping with commits as soon as their seasons end. I'm ok with Jackson being "picky" and trying to get the right guys.

He must be going for the four colleges in four years portal challenge. Perron drama taking the place of Whitelaw drama in Michigan I guess.

I'd take Spicer back at UND and make for a good redemption story.
