So...you mean like the Packers and their fans? Go Pack Go!
-
Personally, I never found Red Pepper to be that good.... ...then again, I'm not from North Dakota.
-
If every single Sioux fan in the world voted just once, Duncan would win, haha.
-
I think it's funny that when we lose to the Gophers so many people have to make up so many excuses and have to find every dumb little thing to rip on Gopher fans and players for.... I would have thought there'd be more adults in this forum.

Miller....good call -
Here are a couple useless facts I dug up for this series while watching Galapagos last night (great show on Nat'l Geographic Channel by the way, haha. They are out of the ordinary and hopefully are seen as more of a joke....maybe not. Altitude Michigan average altitude played at: 793' Sioux average altitude played at: 1304' Michigan home ice altitude: 837' Sioux home ice altitude: 843' Pepsi Center altitude: 5435' (Sioux played 4 games at or near this altitude, Michigan 0) ADVANTAGE: SIOUX Large Crowd Attendance games (14,000 in attendance or more) Michigan record: 1-2-1 Sioux record: 2-2-0 PEPSI Center Hold 18,000 for hockey ADVANTAGE: SIOUX Neutral Ice Records Michigan record: 3-2-1 Sioux record: 3-1-0 PEPSI Center will have more fans than Michigan to go along with the better record ADVANTAGE: SIOUX Common Opponents This Season Michigan record: 2-1-0 Sioux record: 2-1-0 ADVANTAGE: PUSH So, it looks like Sioux have somewhat of an advantage despite the players and recent play.

I know North Dakota is boring, but seriously...who cares so much that people keep posting over and over about some kid that just won a championship game in OT in front of many home fans about popping his jersey. WHO CARES?!?!?!? It isn't that big of a deal. IT REALLY ISN'T!!! I love the Sioux and all, but who really cares. To me it just seems there are A LOT of sore losers on this board.
-
About the previous 17 games being 12-1-4 (now previous 18 are not 12-2-4).... The 2 losses were both OT losses. We haven't lost in regulation since January 5th at Colorado College....which is still virtually an unbeaten streak in a green-shaded sense.

You can look at it two ways with Lee. You can look at the fact that it was a miracle shot, that had virtually no chance of going in bad did. Or, you can look at the fact that if he had skated just a hair harder, Wheeler would have gotten ZERO chance b/c Lee would have tied him up sooner making it impossible for Wheeler to even hit the luckiest of shots...which would have caused an icing. Some see it one way, some see it the other.

Here are a few You Tube clips of Michigan hockey I found from this year....just so you can get a taste of how they look. Some is obviously against weak opposition, like the coast-to-coast Jack Johnson goal. Jack Johnson coast-to-coast Jack Mutha F'ing Johnson <---Pretty good! Haha FSN Jack Johnson feature Johnson Nearly decapitates BC goalie! Skille (Wis) scoring on Sauer) Hensick making Elliot look bad Another against Wisconsin Sick Hensick pass to make Elliot look bad again Terrible defensive effort by the Wolverines MSU tying up the game with 1.3 left against Mich No relevance, just a sweet fight! Haha Pretty much every decent and recent highlight I could find was of either JMFJ, them playing Wisconsin, or them playing MSU....but it's something to chew on. If someone has better results with their searches, post what you find, I'd like to see some footage of these guys.

I was working during the original broadcasting of the Tourney Selection show on ESPN2 today, but did get to catch pieces. I came home after work and watched it a bit more closely and they showed a highlight of how porous that Michigan team defense really is. Didn't skate at all! Our Sioux offense should do it's thing, as long as we can stay out of the box enough to do so. On a side note, Minnesota should be more playoff ready due to their style of play that is less physical. I have a bad feeling that if we play them in the (regional) championship (may as well be national championship) we'll put on the horns and try to make a few more hits than we need to which might lead to a few more penalties against them (again).

Tough break for the Sioux/Gophers and the WCHA.
Big A HG replied to SiouxForever's topic in Men's Hockey
Well...I hate to break it to ya, but the Sioux definitely won't win it this year... -
I wish I could...but I'll be in NC...

I'm not sure what most people on this board are thinking, but it seems that you can't mention one darn thing without someone bringing up the f'in Gophers. It seems that most people on here care MORE about talking about how dumb or classless or ugly or w/e the Gophers are instead of talking about "SIOUX SPORTS" (hence the reason the site is named that). It kind of sucks having to read through page after page after page of "Gopher fans suck"...."Gophers don't know how to check"....."The refs are for the Gophers".... I'm sure I'll get plenty of responses that will tell me I don't have to read or post here. Having said that, a lot of people here need to grow up. Nearly every single thing that is said against the Gophers on this site can be turned around and said about Sioux fans and it's all b/c of the people that care so friggin' much about the Gophers. I don't know for sure, but I don't even think Minnesota considers us their biggest rival. My guess would be teams like Wisconsin, or St. Cloud before us. So, don't act like it's only us versus them when it's not. Just my two cents.

They did that so our boys are too tired to go out and drink after the game
-
Next couple years look fairly bright!
-
I laugh my ass off everytime I see Sioux87 get so worked up about a goofer fan posting on here. It's just as comical as the goofer fans themselves.

I don't really see what's the big deal about a jersey pop....? Is it really that bad? I don't get it...

I guarantee the winner of the Championship game will be....
Big A HG replied to cujo2's topic in Men's Hockey
Hmmm.... Game one this year, on Gopher ice: Sioux kicked ass, wasn't close Game two this year, on Gopher ice: Sioux kicked ass, wasn't close Game three this year, on Gopher ice (don't say it wasn't, it's as close to home ice as you get): Sioux played like crap, still took your team to OT, and lost b/c of a cheap goal. How does it feel to cheer for a group of gay guys that act like they just won the national championship b/c of a cheap OT win to (another) home crowd. -
Scary! Hope it's nothing and just a false alarm.

So...what you're saying is that our players do what men do, and your players are admittedly gay? At least you admit it! -

Didn't you hear? They're all gay! -

Big A HG replied to cujo2's topic in Men's Hockey
Does that mean that you'll be making guarantees? Hahaha, you're just confusing me! -
People like you don't bother me...it makes life interesting b/c there is always some sort of entertainment, haha

As nice as it is to win the Broadmoor, it's no biggie to me. For one, we don't get to raise a WCHA banner since we didn't get it done in the regular season anyways. And two, it's all about the National Championship! Hopefully this humbles us a bit and shows our boys that we aren't invincible right now and hopefully they'll work twice as hard come the REAL playoffs. Next week the SKATE FOR EIGHT begins!!!!
