  1. Agreed. Even last year up here in GF he was one of the cockiest players I've witnessed. I had the pleasure of discussing a few topics with him in the penalty box, and I've never met another with the attitude he has. If daddy wasn't the coach, where do you think he'd be playing right now? One thing I give him credit for though is he hustles about twice as much as most other Gopher players. I'll add in Lasch and JP Testwuide.
  2. It's been mentioned, but I think we found something with our lines we used this weekend. Hak was shuffling all during the first half of the year. All we need is for one or two lines to click to put up a few goals each game....which is always easier said than done. But, with four balanced lines that all can scare the goalie, I like our chances. All we need is for our defense to play with the intensity they did this weekend, and a sound goaltending performance. I think we can put up 2-3 each game playing an average Sioux game. 3-4 goals a game would be awesome. I just hope that all the intensity of the home rivalry series, combined with a very long bus trip and a hostile arean doesn't translate to a sluggish performance. Add in a defensive minded opponent, and we could have some woes. These games will be a lot closer than the Gopher series, even if we play great. It's not that the Gophers are bad, but I think the guys gave it their all throughout practice and the games. It's hard to carry that intensity over on one of the hardest road trips we face each season.
  3. The highlight of the whole thing was when a Gopher fan was hoping lil pussy Lucia got leveled for what he was doing out there.
  4. Dang, you found it right before I did... Let's hope he grows another 2 inches. I like the idea of having some bigger forwards with offensive power. They seem to be a lot more consistent than smaller forwards. He's currently 5'11", 175, but only 16. If he puts in work at the weight room and can get around 190 lbs, he'll hopefully be a force for the Sioux.
  5. I'm sorry, but it's just a way to get people to their site.
  6. Voting for Chay is useless, just so you guys know. It counts for like 1% of voting. Duncan wasn't even on the list when he won the Hobey.
  7. We don't want 'em.
  8. For the players sake, too bad his foot wasn't hurt instead of his head... ....or maybe he brought a wooden spoon to practice, told everyone to pull down their breezers and line up for spankings. Man, I hated the wooden spoon....
  9. Just picture the Seawolves as the Bison when they come to town. I'm sure their hideious green/yellow uni's would be similar to what NDSU would have.
  10. Jay-goire was flying all weekend. I'd like to think this will continue, but something doesn't seem right. They made it look too easy almost this past weekend that there's something we don't know about. I'll be optimistic when our chances of making the playoffs improve from where they are today.
  11. I'm not saying anything because I don't want to jinx anything, but it'll change when it needs changing.
  12. Agreed....leave their garbage in their own yard. No need to ruin our green grass.
  13. My guess is they fly to Green Bay and bus to Houghton.
  14. OK, so my PS3 doesn't like the Sioux. I let the computer simulate both games, and this is what it came up with. Game 1 Shots 34-24 MTU Hits 31-21 MTU Faceoffs 20-8 UND PIM 10 a piece
  15. I'm going to add a PS3 prediction for the weekend much like ESPN.com does with Madden and NFL games. Game 1 is complete, game 2 is starting.
  16. Yeah, you'd think I'd figure it out... Big Joe is the man, even though he's made mistakes in the past...but, what player hasn't? It really bothers me that Sioux fans really dislike Sioux players. Why do people hate our guys so much....Maybe that's another thing I'll never get.
  17. One thing that really stood out all weekend was how many blocked shots we had. They haven't put themselves in front of pucks all season like they did this weekend. I really hope they continue to put that effort into their defense. It will really pay dividends down the stretch. In the Frozen Four last year, how many of Genoway's blocked shots from the point resulted in odd-man rushes for BC, leading towards more comments against Finley's play. Finley got blamed for Genoway's forced shots. I wish people would watch the whole play. Even the first month and a half of the season Genoway continued to do that. He's since looked for better oppurtunities, resulting in better scoring chances for both him and other teammates. It's little things like that that really add up. Throw in some hustle and you got yourself a good ol' fashioned Gopher ass-whoopin!
  18. Except Patterson
  19. I like your sig, but it's a little big. I can't believe I actually shook that kids hand too....
  20. Good call on the FCSC. I've had the package for a couple years now and it's awesome for watching a bunch of extra college hockey throughout the year. I just set for them to record. Thanks for the heads up! Now all we need is for the Ralph to upgrade to HD, hehe.
  21. This is easier to say since the Sioux won, but I'll say it anyways.... Being a WI born Sioux student/fan (with a lot of love for all things Badgers except hockey since I never grew up a hockey fan), I despise the Gophers. I love every time they lose no matter who it's against. However, that's just rivalry. I love it every time my favorite team plays them, because I always feel my team will be the better team. I love the hatred. I don't go out of my way to trash talk with anyone, and can usually find fans from the opposing team who are actually good people who you can talk a good conversation with. There are dumb fans from both sides, and good fans from both sides. I don't think anything that goes on during a game is wrong, I just think its rivalry. I have nothing against any Gopher fan and hope that things never change. Imagine if everyone loved each other and we all got along. How boring would it be when each team matched up? Let's enjoy these while we can. They'll have their games where they will beat us like we did them. All we can ask for now is that the team realized what they can accomplish when they leave everything on the ice for 120 minutes.
  22. I really would love to sit down and listen to each broadcast, but every time I record a Sioux game, it seems like they lose. So, I didn't take the chance in jinxing them.
  23. Freshmen and sophomore forwards are really starting to take over, and man, they are exciting to watch. Every line created oppurtunities. There wasn't one player that looked like they weren't playing up to snuff, except for the brown players out there. For those that don't know. Jonesy had one of his patented "rage blackouts." When he gets riled up to those extremes, he literally blacks out and can't remember what he's even doing until after the fact. Another rage blackout he had was last year in Wisconsin during the regular season when he was taking on two guys at once.
  24. There's more to the story, which I'm not going to post here, but Finley had every right to pull him out with what Wheeler said. Any one of you with half a brain would have done the same thing if you were in Finley's skates either. But, those that don't know stories always have the loudest reactions.
  25. I feel like a 6 year old. Wouldn't it be nice to go to a school where they treated their students like the adults that they are...? I've stood in line for many hours for most home games the last few years and have never seen anything that go on that needed assistance from any outside agency. All the students are good at policing themselves. Everyone is too fricken cold to get in trouble.
