I actually told some friends at the beginninig of the year that Daryl Brown should be starting (prior to game 1 during Spring practices) over both Mackey and Hall. I thought he was going to be a stud. I agree - heard great things about Dwayne Brown and hopefully he can make an impact.

I think they only had three over 30 yards, but all three (48, 80, 88) went for TDs. You may be right that they had one more over 30 that got them down the field quickly. The defensive backfield is also my greatest concern - get some unexpected results from there and we may push for a playoff spot. Realistically, I still see 6 or 7 wins, but will cheer my ass off and happily be proven wrong.

Now with Wiki back up - looks like Carr is only in the interest list although Scout says we've offered. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=6276682

In the mid-90s they always came out to Walk by Pantera - that was pretty sweet.

Glad Bell had a good time. Looks like a very talented player. Would love to see him in the Kelly Green

Wiki isn't working for me so don't know if these offers are posted. RB Kani Benoit, 5'11" 175 Phoenix (Thunderbird), AZ - offer from SDSU http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=8&c=1&nid=5434669 LB DeAndre Miller, 6'2" 220 Buckeye (Union), AZ - offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, SoDak St, UTSA. http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=8&c=1&nid=6056161 I believe these two at one point (maybe rivals) were considered NDSU potential offers, but I believe someone on BV stated that the main recruiting guy in AZ told him it was UND. There were a couple others on scout for AZ, but I think they've been covered (Tre Favors, Nate Phillips and Aeron Carr).

I do not live in North Dakota anymore, but if I did I would definitely vote yes. Time to move on.

While highly unlikely, it is possible. Example - Ball State will be travelling to Illinois State in a couple years.

This - but I guess former players are not "real fans" because they are now anti-nickname and don't understand that the sanctions are not a big deal and a couple "real fans" like Dave and Fetch could live with the sanctions.

Obvious troll is obvious In before the lock.

With the focus of recruiting on Illinois, I'd love to see some games with Northwestern, Illinois, Northern Illinois to take advantage of that.

Wasn't there a scrimmage today? Anyone still in the GF area make it? Anything to report? Really curious as to how things are progressing. Any info would be greatly appreciated

UND and Utah Valley tied at 6-6 in bottom of ninth
Hambone replied to mizzou/sioux's topic in Other Sports
Ended up 7-6 UVU. Not sure what inning - just saw the score this morning. -
Well, UND was swept by the Bison. Games Saturday I believe were 3-1 and 7-3. This afternoon was 4-3 Bison.

It's interesting to me that out of the DB positions, a RFR is listed as a backup to three of the four positions. Additionally, I see Dwayne Brown is not going to compete in Spring due to injuries. My understanding is that he was close to having his RS pulled last year, so I wonder if he'll at least backup (or maybe even start over) Mackey when the year gets going. Looking at the depth chart, it looks like we do have some pretty good talent, with the main question marks being QB and DB. If we can get solid play in both of these positions, UND may make some noise this year. I have heard from a former UND QB that Hansen sounds like the real deal, so maybe the QB position will be a strength this year.

New offer in Illinois: DE Chris Kantzavelos, 6'4" 245 Bartlett (Bartlett), IL http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Chris-Kantzavelos-136709

While this might be true, it doesn't change the fact that there was some good basketball being played in the Summit this year.

Utah Valley is also playing in the CIT. They will face Big Sky member (who I think had a shot at the NIT) Weber State.

Reading the game recap on cnnsi, the last paragraph makes me cringe: The game at the modern 7,000-seat Jones Convocation Center on the campus of Chicago State drew a crowd of about 150. Just saw that, as I signed up (which made it seem free) and then at the end they say "You don't have access to view the content - sign up for package by clicking continue", then goes to the place to charge you. Not cool.

NJIT has defeated UVU in OT to make it to the finals.

SFI just tweeted the UND added another prep linebacker to the 2012 class and they are working on a writeup.

Unlike hockey, basketball and other sports, football uses dark unis for home and white for away (unless the home team is in Florida, Arizona, or somewhere else hot and choose to wear white for home games to combat the heat). So, any all black jersey would be home. I would like to see what they could do with an all black jersey, but I'm more for the green / black and green / grey combos that have been shown here. The more I'm looking at the grey ones the more I think I like them. Not sure about grey helmets though.....
