    The War Comes Home

The Bismarck Tribune today had an excellent story about Ken Hendrickson that portrayed the kind of person he was. The part about him taking pictures of dirt in Iraq and sending them back to Bismarck is classic Ken. I'd get into arguments with him sometimes, but he was just the kind of person you could never stay mad at.
  17. It's time to put some points between us and those pesky Duluth Dogs.
  18. The trajectory of the puck changes to a downward angle after contacting the stick blade. It didn't do that for no reason and it's not an optical illusion. Parise's stick is over his head because the puck was over his head. The puck wouldn't have come down to where he could have hit it again if he hadn't knocked it down.
  19. Who said you couldn't?
  20. I'll look at it again, but I also think you have to take the camera angle into account. Even from behind the net, the camera is above the players, which tends to make Parise's stick and the puck look lower than they really were. The high stick might have been much more obvious at ice level.
  21. The way I see it, Parise's stick is over his head when the puck deflects off the blade. It looks like an obvious high stick to me. When you view the play from center ice at a higher camera angle, it looks close. But the view from behind the goal, which is at a lower angle, shows it more clearly. And being right down on the ice with the players would show it more clearly yet.
  22. Zach played the puck with a high stick. No Gopher player ever had control of the puck before Murray shot it in. Shepherd made the right call. Let's move on.
  23. That stiff?
  24. I am not so much concerned with the loss to Minnesota as I am with how the team reacts to it.
