One of the main reasons there were more problems this year with students was due to the way that the student season tickets for the lower bowl were distributed. What a great idea, lets give away the best tickets the students have to random students in a drawing. Hey maybe if we are lucky a hand full of the die hard students who used to stand in line for hours before a game might get a few of these tickets and will be able to keep all the damn NOOBS in check. And don't try to argue that every student should have a right to those seats. If they want those seats they should have to pay their dues. Stand in line the way I did for all those years. I made some friends along the way. Students eventually graduate, as they leave it opens places for new students. These new students need to decide how important Sioux hockey is to them. I'll admit the first year of REA was bad with standing and swearing. But then the word got out that it wasn't going to be tolerated. Just about the time the "die hard" students who put forth the time and effort to get those good seats get things turned around; Dr. Cup Cake changes the season ticket distribution to random chance of luck. Therefore, removing the majority of the students who had the appreciation and the desire to improve things. My point is that just as we are starting to make strides towards an improvement, Dr. Cup Cake throws a loop into the system. Consistancy is the way to get things done. Pick something positive and stick with it. With time, things will work themselves out.

Earlier today an un-named doctor released a statement that a Grand Forks woman gave birth to a monkey like creature. Due to doctor/patient confidentiality he was not able to release the name or the condition of the woman or the monkey. A janitor who claims to have talked to the woman says "She is planning on raising her new born baby to be a slow goon like hockey player like it's father." The janitor also stated that the baby doesn't look as much like a monkey as it does a wookie. Rumors are speculating that this could be the love child of one John "Wookie" Durno and local Sioux fan Forecheck.

When people say that the students get discounted prices, that is somewhat true. Each and every student pays an activity fee which is part of enrollment. Now this fee may not be close to the amount that season ticket holders donate, but it is still money that the students pay. As to why UND/REA doesn't allow season tickets to students in the upper deck is beyond me. REA doesn't want the students to have general admission tickets cause REA would have to regulate a line outside the building. Personally I thought that once they had the fencing setup that the line issue was not as big of a deal. (then again I was always up front so I don't know ) Now that they aren't allowing season tickets for the upper deck, aren't they once again turning it into general admission.(just not for lower deck) Personally I know that I am going to be lined up early to make sure I get front row upper deck, as well as many others. Standing in line waiting for a game is half the atmosphere of going to a game. But what do I know, I've only missed two games in the last 6 years.

Lets just hope that adrenaline doesn't bcome infected with your Turrets syndrome, that could get ugly fast. Everyone in the lower bowl would get a shower by the end of the game

Does anyone even know if they are having an internet feed for the Friday afternoon game. I know it sucks, but Dagwoods usually carries the feed. At least that way I would be able to watch the game. Situation still blows where it stands right now though.

The main difference is for the two teams that are in the Thursday night play-in game. If MN is in the Thursday night play-in and win then they don't play until Friday night. But if MN is a 2 or 3 seed then the play-in game winner plays Friday afternoon. This year it helps UND cause the winner of the play-in gets less rest then normal. I just don't think that it is fair to change when the games are played depending on who is playing in them. I realize that they will sell more tickets for a Friday night goofer game than they will for a Friday afternoon one, but it's not fair to the other teams.

The trumpet guy is an REA employee, he is one of the new little perks to help get the fans into it. And as for him falling backwards off the glass. He had been practicing that all week at the ralph. I guess they put a nice soft matt for him to land on until he got the hang of catching himself. But the twig and berries incident I don't know about. I think it was probably suppose to be part of his act, but he may have accidently turned the berries into jam.

ok, you are right last year cc was great, but not until the game was almost over and Ranfranz had stood on his head after the Sioux had let in 4 goals. And the lower student section was still mainly students for that series. I should now I was standing outside in the freezing cold with them before the game. And playoffs don't count.......There is always going to be atmosphere if for no other reason than that it is playoffs

PCM, I think you are missing Mory00's point, He agrees that changes need to be changed. But at the same time, he and I along with about 30 other students tried to create atmosphere by handing out little sheets of paper with cheers and the school songs on the to the general public when they walked in the doors. You wouldn't believe how many people either didn't want them or threw them away after a quick glance. A security guard actually told me to stop handing them out cause they were just being tossed on the floor There is something to fix.........It's not just the Vulgarity that is the problem, if the AD and REA tries to help create atmosphere in a non vulgar way, then there will be something available to replace the vulgarness with. Otherwise it will become the social club it was the first year, a place to be seen by everyone in the community.
