#15 UND (22-9) vs #2 Arizona (30-4) 3/16 8:50 NCAA 1st Round

I pick Cortez Seales to steal the show tonight. To win we need someone to go way over and beyond. Cortez will have a monster night. He can't be stopped when he decides to go to the basket. We need about 25 from him. -
I have gone to this the last three years - didn't go this year like many of you have shared. Not knowing for sure if we were going to make it and other commitments messed me up from going. I am interested in how many here said they weren't going but changed their mind and decided to go.

I agree that it is unfortunate that we won't have the band and cheerleaders. Sometimes things just don't turn out. Any chance if you are willing to wear a skirt and wave pompoms Art? -

I admit that there are times I am a half empty type of guy. Sorry but I am afraid we get behind by 25 and lose by 15. One thing to drive the basket (like we do so well) against one 6"10" player - complete another thing to drive to meet a couple seven footers. Hopefully the refs are calling fouls. We should be able to beat them down the court though. It would be fun to come out blazing and make 8 threes in the first half. Go Hawks! -
In Fargo it is channel 622 and 624 I believe

This is a real life story. Win key games you are a hero and get rewarded. Lose key games you are garbage and get thrown out. But, it's all what have you done lately. Fans are finicky.

#1 UND (19-9) vs #8 PSU (15-15) Big Sky Quarterfinals 3/9 2:05

I was thinking the same thing that UND is better than PSU. We had way too many turnovers - many from lack of concentration - appeared we sleepwalking at times. PSU zone hurt us and we need to shoot a little better. At times we were unstoppable. PSU did hit shots to keep them in the game. I think Avants will play better. Can't figure him out - he works so hard but he was playing better earlier in the year. Our guards are awesome. Nice to know we also have an All Conference coach. -
Do the pairwise rankings take into account the conference tournaments?
-
From what I could tell, it looked like we were having trouble breaking a zone defense toward the end of the season. We need to run the fast break and attack the basket like we have so the other team doesn't have a chance to setup their zone. Once the zone is set up we need to shoot the 3's a with a little better consistency. We have been a little sloppy with the basketball. Avants hasn't been the Avants we know and love. We do need our bigs to step up. That all said, we do have very talented guards who are capable of winning games. Our guards are nearly unstoppable. I agree that there are about 6-7 teams that could win this thing. Go Hawks!

What qualities did Grady have that made him such a great OL? With all of the returning OL and what we have heard about the redshirt freshmen I thought our OL would be a strength going into the season.
-
Are our OL big enough?, strong enough?, old enough?, fast enough?, quick enough?, experienced enough?, smart enough?, don't have the technique down - how long does this take to learn?, don't understand who to block? I am trying to understand if we have the right people and they will grow into being able to contribute or we need others to come in (this year, next year, the year after). Seems like we have big strong men. Do we have enough good OL on the roster to succeed this year and next? Everyone seems to say we don't. If we don't what needs to improve with them and how long does it take?

I didn't know where to put this. I wanted to say how fun this year has been. Some folks have identified the five sports that are followed most closely by UND fans: Both basketballs, volleyball, football and men's hockey. I am optimistic, when all is done, that all five will have made the national playoffs. Many ups and downs but for Pete's sake - it doesn't get much better than this. That said, I think everyone will agree that next year we will be better with most if not all of these teams. Just a good time to be an UND fan - yes - an UND Fighting Hawk fan! I appreciate this site and thank all that contribute.

I'll start out by admitting I don't know or understand. Seems like we have all sorts of Offensive Linemen. Maybe someone would be willing to explain to those of us (maybe just me) that don't understand what makes a great OL. We seem to have all sorts of size. Are some not strong enough, not experienced enough to understand the offense, not fast or quick enough?? Sorry for the elementary questions - been meaning to ask for a long time.

Aren't we still waiting for a transfer or two??
