I want to make the playoffs because we are good - I would take backing in but let’s earn it. Earn it by playing and coaching to our abilities. Being sloppy and allowing blocked punts means we don’t deserve. Bad breaks will happen. Good plays by our opponents will happen. Crap happens. Good teams overcome and win. I want this year’s team to be something we are proud of. I want us to win because we are good!

One of many things you have taught me over the years is that the tackle position is harder to fill. I get more excited when we get tackle recruits than guards.

I am with Gundy. Not saying the opponent is bad - but saying it is a game we should dominate- not saying the opponent is a pushover but we are supposed to beat teams like this. If we cannot dominate then the coaches didn’t do there job. It would mean we don’t know how to come out and impose our will against one of the teams we should handle. Not saying we can’t improve but I am looking for us to be good more than the opponent to be bad.

I would think Drake has to be the least talented team we will play this year. Doesn’t bode well for us if we can’t expect a comfortable win. Not saying I am right but if the game is close I have to be disappointed.

I will be disappointed if the outcome of this game isn’t decided by halftime - in our favor - duh I am hoping for a 38-10 score range.

I want each deck (upper and lower)of seats to rotate around the rink. Slowly - maybe one rotation per period.

Was talking to a parent last weekend and she went through the football time commitment and expectations players have during the fall camp. Wow! I knew it was a lot but it is virtually all day every day. I wanted to again thank the players. As a fan I need that gentle reminder to appreciate the good and not get too down on them for the bad. any former players out there willing to give insights on the mental and physical stress of fall camp?

Looking for insights on the ol weight less weight so they can pull more?? Less weight for a little more stamina with hurry up and faster pace?? Any other advantages?? less weight means less power up the middle?? If pace doesn’t work are we sol?? I was unfamiliar with zone blocking as talked about in this thread. Definition I found: Zone blocking is a running scheme in which the offensive linemen block gaps, rather than a power blocking scheme where each lineman is responsible for a specific defender. Have to say it was good walking into memorial stadium for practice Saturday. I haven’t been in there for about 30 years. it looks like a nice place to practice. it was the first time I actually stepped on the track. By the way, I got into the stadium from the northwest corner. This was after checking out the only entrance I knew of from my college days on the west side. Walking in I was only ten yards away from some players so I wondered if I was someplace I wasn’t supposed to be. it brought back lots of good memories. I parked north of the stadium. There were only about ten cars in the parking lot. Lots of space for a grill and beers for fans to gather after practice!
