ALMOST, ALMOST was goign to make the trip up to watch this series, should eb one heck of a fight for both teams. UND has to watch the penalties, UMD can make short work of a goalie in that situation. I'm hoping for two 0-0 ties! Or at least a split! Actually, good hockey is what I hope for, no reffing issues and a quality match up. WPoS

I will be interesting to see what happens from the Sioux faithfull if they get swept at UMD! the still only operates on Saturday games. Swing on by on the sixth if you want...I understand that the puck action will be at 2 in the afternoon due to squeeky ball playing at 7 pm . well, yah. I did hear that, but I think it was Dubay. I guess leaving ONE game early since '87 counts me a "bad" Gopher fan. Especially since Ticket Ba$tard double sold my seats and sent me the wrong tickets ( got tickets for the UMD/Tech game! WTF!). So I had to: #1 pay a fee to get tickets I never got #2 stand in line for my "replacement ticket", i.e.: a scrap of paper with scribbling on it #3 have people sit in the seats I paid for and have no recourse but to find ANY place to stand and watch the carnage #4 place I stood I had to lean forward ALL GAME and lean on a roof beam to not fall on the people in front of me So after the walk over the the Garden it just seemed better to stay there and drink a few pitchers instead. Dubay can kiss my left one! WPoS

UMD the better team this weekend. Much better speed and goal tending., UND better watch out. The Gophs had a HUGE time adapting to the smaller ice sheet (misqued passes, bad positional choices, etc.)...does not bode well if that trend continues. On Saturday (yes, prolly all discussed, but I am not going to read all that) Gophers definitely played a more dominant role in the game, but Riech...(sp) played excellent. UMD a very fast, quick team that stifled many attempts at binging 2 points home for us. New prediction from me is UMD will get WCHA regular season. They are real this year and are fired up (but still only have WOMEN'S hockey banners! ) WPoS

pentalty box is a group of students that LOVE to drink...I actually know/met most of them and have met the ring leaders on many occasions. Good group of guys, misguided, but fun to have brews with. DHG is a DEAD ringer for Bluto....especially in a toga! WPoS

I don't, the NC$$ wants HE teams in the mix and if the WCHA teams all won their brackets hwo would that fare for their money making? IF that many WCHA teams make the brackets, be sure that they will put them in such a way that thre is only ONE WCHA team making it to the FF! WPoS

as I stated on POI this morning: the goalie not touching the puck behind the line is stupid. I am all for regulating pad size. But if the NHL wants to generate more scoring, get rid of the stupid 2 line pass rule! WPoS

Bias-shmias... I will have to put up with "In Heaven There Is No Beer" about 20 million times this weekend. Most of the available seats for us Gopher fans are right next to the UMD student section, should be interesting. We'll have 2-300 fans there vs. their 400 person student section. I will miss our old spot behind the goalie in sections R&S, but I guess that's what happens when you piss off an old umluni by being louder than his student section! WPoS
