  1. Some people think it will look good to the playoff selection committe for the NCC, if NDSU defeats a quality Northern Sun team at the end of the season. Before you go there, the opposite is also true.
  2. FYI sioux7 Concordia is a Division II school in the Northern Sun. They beat Crookson 48-7 last year. Their only losses were to Duluth and Winona.
  3. This would be only seven teams. With other additions to I-AA, more could be added. The Mid-Con is all over the place, but probably not any more than the new football conference would be, at least if you look at distance.
  4. I know it has been discussed on this board, but the schools are finally talking about a new conference. Article from the Forum:
  5. Curious to know where the farm is that you own if you own one. I did read the post prior the game time of the Ferris State game, and it sounded to me that some of the UND faithful had already put UND into the regional final against the Gophers. That is if the Gophers could beat Mercyhurst.
  6. I don't think it is an obsession as UND fans would like to think. It is more to pull your chain (The article). Just reading the NDSU Spectrum is a sign the someone cares about what the other person is saying. I like to see what's going on with the other school. De nile is in Egypt. I also go to eGriz, The Gateway, Georgia Southern and more. I think rivalries are fun, but some people take them tooooo..... seriously.
  7. This is a pretty active thread for nobody caring.
  8. We don't have a ski team either, but we root for the USA in the olympics. Rooting for the Minnesota Gophers is fine with me. Are these the same UND fans that were complaining about the Bison fans shouting the same thing about UND. Sicatoka, you remember the thread. Must be all the tension from the site being down yesterday. Sounds like you guys could use a Smack thread.
  9. Minnesota's top defenseman was the Hobey Baker winner. I am biased, after watching several of the Gopher players coming up thru high school. As you said it is an opinion.
  10. Minnesota is a fellow land grant school (AG Tech) as the UND people say. I am a Gopher hockey fan. You could tell the team was going to be good someday, by the way the Freshmen looked in the Ohio St game at the beginning of the season. Someday came sooner than later. UND did lose some good players after the NC year, but list of Gopher players lost included better players
  11. I really think the article was more about the Gophers than UND.
  12. Siouxrock may be a party animal? Red River Players Ineligible
  13. Maybe competition is too strong of a word. Coaches have a good idea of who is available around the country. Just depends on how the players fit into their programs. Sometimes the players contact the school.
  14. Looks like even more competition for the Juco's. That is five extra scholarships now available between the two schools.
  15. Bemidji State has a hockey program, and may fit in better with the new NCC. How about Michigan Tech, now that they are keeping football?
  16. Just saw this on ESPN. How did you guys manage this one? How much are you paying him? Why would he go to UND? This is amazing! I guess you guys got us on this one.
  17. I would consider Billiter on a list right behind Nagy and Boots for coaching ability in the NCC. Billiter also sounds very happy to be back in the Conference. Attitude has a lot to do with success. That's my opinion. There is some good potential on this list. Is Godfread doing anything at Northern Iowa? Would he be a transfer candidate for Division II?
  18. That will help UND get some Juco's. With Billeter coaching in Augustana there will be more competition for those Juco's. I can see him turning that program around in a couple years. He always found good talent at that level, and is a good coach.
  19. Just when things start calming down, and people are talking nice again. Someone comes along and stirs up the hornets nest. The same person on Hockey, Football, Basketball threads. Hockey Football Basketball
  20. Siouxrock; What does your last post have to do with the topic? We were talking about 2003 football schedules.
  21. The point of the post was if NDSU and UND finish 8-3, and head-to-head UND wins. Would the committee pick UND 8-3 vs Division II or NDSU 8-1 vs Division II teams? It is not clear cut (head-to-head), who they would select for the playoffs.
  22. A lot of red tape to get thru before Head-to-Head comes into play. 1. Strength of Schedule SSI. Division II only 2. W-L record Overall W-L Division II W-L overall Division II W-L Region Division II W-L Region Road Division II W-L Non-Conference 3. Record vs Ranked Teams last Regional Ranking 4. Results vs Non-Division II 5. Head to Head.
  23. The game is on at 5:00 CST today, on ESPN 2. Go Jacks Congrats to the SDSU Jacks, 2003 National Champions!!
  24. I do not think he sucks. Woog is a victim of the South St Paul Boys Hockey Jinx. SSP has been to 27 Minnesota State Hockey Tournaments and never won. They do not even have the most second place finishes. Phil Housley from SSP has never won a Stanley Cup. Housley was on the USA Olympic Team the won a Silver Medal. Tim Horst plays for New Hampshire, they did not win last year. Woog left SSP to coach the Gophers and never won a NC. Woog's replacement Russ Welch did not win at SSP. Welch Left SSP to coach at Hastings. With a great team in Hastings that included Jeff Taffe, Dan Welch and Adam Gerlach, Welch did not win State.
  25. The same story is on the Montana Griz board 4 hours earlier.
