Considering that Hoosman didn't see the field at UNI I'm not sure I want to take much comfort in that.

Remember, NDSU used to lose almost every year to SDSU during the season and then come out blazing during the playoffs and beat them. That was of course until last year. A loss during the regular season can be overcome.

Since Matt's never had much of a career with Dallas I fear it will be very easy for them to cut him and move on if it's going to require surgery.

If we win any of those major games and still only finish 7-4 that means we laid an egg against some school like Indiana State or Arizona State. We can't be getting upset against schools like that.

I agree. We have to do better than 7-4.

I can't wait for the season to start. I really feel this is our year. The schedule is in our favor and we have the horses.

But Wentz "earned" that ring standing on the sideline. It didn't even look like he was cheering for Philly when they won.

I'm sure the picture with the gear from his last three gigs is an attempt to show him as a team player and somehow friendly with all three. No one is going to buy it, he'll always be remembered as a bust and being poison in the locker room

I suggest we change the title of this thread to "Carson Wentz taking the unemployment office by storm". I doubt any team is signing him this late and trying to get him to learn their plays. He couldn't play when he had a whole year to figure it out.

I've always thought Matt Larsen is the biggest slime ball you could find. I heard him on the radio once at halftime, had to listen to the NDSU version of the game because no UND station where I was at the time. He just comes across as something worse than a used car dealer. I'm not surprised Patty calls him incompetent. I'm sure she had other names for him but was too much of lady to use them.

I feel bare minimum is a bye in the first round followed a win, or if we play the first round we get two wins. We have to start making progress and I'm really hopeful about this year, the stars seem to align. If not this year it may be a long time. We've got the team and the schedule in our favor.

7-4 would still get us into the playoffs. It would be nice to beat either NDSU or SDSU and I feel this year should be our chance.

Recruiting looks good. I've been critical in the past but things are looking up.

I don't get the problem we have with recruiting. It seems like nothing ever changes and now NDSU is pulling them in left and right. Big, sought after players too. I think my skin would crawl if I had to sit in the same room with Entz listening to him recruit any kid of mine and yet they they get the job done. The only good thing about NDSU getting all these top notch recruits is that in 2 or 3 years they'll all be in the portal. The fact still remains UND isn't doing it right on recruiting and I've complained about this for years. No, I don't have the answer.

Hockey has proven that throwing money at a program doesn't necessarily get you more championships.

I didn't say develop, I said keep them in the program. Seems you boys lost a lot of good players to the portal this year.

Getting recruits is one thing, using them successfully and keeping them for the next season is something else and both those last two items seem to be a lost art at NDSU. As long as they have clueless coaches and an AD they are still very beatable.

Lots of schools don't have individual names on the uniforms for the very reason I said. Whether you agree or not is a different matter, but that's why.

Disagree. The only name that needs to appear is the name on the front of the uni. We're a team, and names on back signify individuals.

They sure have an easy schedule avoiding both us and NDSU, but I predict they have 4 losses. YSU really hasn't been relevant in a while

I'm glad to see NDSU failing. Sure looked bad in Frisco, so I'm fine with Entz too, but I wonder if their fans feel the same way.

Even if Bubba is somehow eased out (or pushed out) I can foresee his replacement coming from within or strong past connection. That's the UND way and it's not working. Ask NDSU if it always works to stay within your ranks. They went back to the well one too many times and now Entz and Roehl are steadily running the program into the ground. If you're going to make changes, then make changes. I've used this word before: Inbreeding
