  1. I'll be traveling to ND soon. I'd like to pick up some gear with the new logo. I would prefer the Adidas gear over some of the stuff I've seen from the other brands. I'm headed to Minot, so definitely going through Fargo. How does the selection at Fargo Scheels compare to the selection at the UND Bookstore? Also, if anybody has a line on some tight-holding, slow-flying, thin-skinned pheasants, let me know?
  2. Johnny Gill out with an injury? Hopefully somebody will rub him the right way.
  3. All I get on Watch Big Sky is a still of a Ragu ad. Might it be a bandwidth issue, because I'm at work?
  4. Wow what a bad call. Yeah, he didn't turn around, but there was no contact!
  5. It's all going to come down to who wants it least.
  6. Um, just how much have you had to drink?
  7. It seems like someone should have told them it's a Jubilee year. This won't suffice.
  8. When I run it through a google search for that picture, I don't find anything other than sites that allege it came from UND. Not saying that it did come from UND, just saying I can't find anything that suggests it is old.
  9. That's not really an either/or statement. A team of marshmallows would be really cool. Because marshmallows.
  10. It has been a topic at University of Michigan, too. I think Harbaugh injected some excitement, but at the games I've been to, the student section emptied surprisingly early. I'm sure there are generational reasons. I would guess one is that the typical 20 year old has grown up with entertainment immediately available, and even football may be "too slow" for them. Even for me, I much prefer to watch a game on DVR so I can zip through it. The only deterrent to that is having to work hard to avoid any spoilers in media or in communication with friends.
  11. I'll take the baseball cap in green, please. Visors are a no-go for me.
  12. I'm at work, watching here and there. The vibe sucks.
  13. What is your experience with marijuana being overlooked? Again, if you don't know the "n" for both circumstances, it's all guesswork.
  14. I was not whining about officers choosing to not give each other tickets, I was simply pointing out that officers do in fact pick and choose which laws to enforce and when. As to your second point, it may be true, but it requires knowing the "n" for each occurrence. I'm sure the Grand Forks Herald doesn't have a section detailing the numbers of offenders let off with warnings. People used to be astounded that I had gotten several warnings for speeding on the same road. There's no way those records are kept. Just like there's no way of knowing whether alcohol laws are enforced as frequently as marijuana laws are, and whether race matters. Fair enough, I don't know for certain, but I have a hunch.
  15. It seems my attempt to post from my phone didn't work. What speed do you drive on the highway? I know with certainty that there are people in my little area who used to confidently drive drunk, knowing that since they were buddies with one of the local cops, they'd just get an escort home. There was a high profile case here where a cop was pulled over for driving drunk. It was big news because he was double the legal limit, driving 90 in a business district, and there was video of it. When the officer who pulled him over saw who it was, he said, "Damn, man, I called it in as a pursuit!" The hidden meaning in that statement being there would soon be other officers there, making it harder to just let him off. Even with that, there were STILL local cops who felt that the arresting officer violated some sort of code. Talk with cops and they'll tell you they don't give nurses tickets, because they have the odd belief that if one day they're needing life-saving help, a nurse who has been ticketed may hold a grudge. Hell, I've even been the beneficiary of uneven enforcement. I slid off the highway due to snow and had to call a wrecker. State police had to be called since I was unable to drive my car back onto the road. The trooper looked at my license, realized I used to take care of his kid, and said, "Normally there's a ticket for driving at a speed unsafe for conditions, but you're not getting one." Another time I got pulled over for speeding on my way to work on Christmas Day. I didn't argue it a bit, but the officer let me go, I think maybe because she saw my name badge and title. Yes, we are already at the point where officers can pick and choose what laws they enforce, and we've been there for some time. I wonder how often people in North Dakota who look like Iwarri Smith are beneficiaries of uneven enforcement? How often is underage possession of alcohol overlooked as compared to possession of marijuana?
  16. Well, I never thought that wacky website would get cited here. I'm quite surprised it is still up and running.
  17. Yeah, to me it seems like it means, "yeah, I'm gonna be there", but apparently it's more spiritual than that. Anyway, looking forward to the game in K-zoo Friday. If anybody is looking for tips on West Michigan beer tourism, let me know.
  18. The boys should also give 110%.
  19. Sometimes they get more than one play on first down?
