    Health care

Living here in GF I see alot of Canadians out and about. I almost always go out of my way to ask them if they like there health care system. Overwealming support for there system. This is a very important and current topic. With my wife is about to loose her great policy at the end of the year and with her per existing conditions it scares the hell out of me. Every time you recieve a letter from your HC provider it scares the hell out of you. What should change? If anything? Maybe Jim does not want this topic since this is a sports forum.
  2. 2 futue Sioux may be on FSN tonite Metro vs Outstate Marcus Binns Metro RB. Damon Andrews Outstate WR.
  3. Dale McCabe my old noon ball friend died way to young. So did Michael Jackson Just saw Jerry Olson at Wal Mart he looked good.
  4. Obama is in the drivers seat. He'll give you $4,500.00 for your klunker. Take it.
  5. On the radio this morning Hal Gershman said GF's population was 55,000. Rick Duquette at city hall last week told me GF was at 56,000. Makes me wonder what GF's popluation would have been with out the flood or the base downsizing. GF has taken alot of big hits. I wonder if it hurts or helps being so close to Fargo? I think it hurts the Columbia Mall alot.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCpQLZs2Eh8...feature=related Another great 70's song Dave Mason still rockin in his 60's. Another great performer from (The Coolest Generation Of All Time)
  7. The recruiting exposure you get playing the Gophers can only help UND. Many alumni in that area. When Bohl took over the Bison he said they have to play the Gophers. I think he was correct. Go Sioux.

    Jobs

Go to Bismarck and work at the new Bismarck Energy Center. There will be no shortage of funds pumped into that facility. A slap in the face to EERC. What's going next from UND?
  9. Tech fan we have a new QB this year just like you. The players I've talked say he has an NFL arm. We need some recievers to step up it's a big question mark there.
  10. I haven't been to spring practice but I talked to Josh Murray today. He said he will be on the field next fall. I asked him about his backup Mitch Sutton. He said Mitch is a quality back at 5'8 198. I asked him about Ryan Chappell and he said he talked to Ryan recently. He said Ryan is looking at moving to Montana and may take up firefighting. Josh Murray is a personable young man. Good luck to him and to Ryan.
  11. Whats fun about watching that clip is you have players that want the ball. The offensive skills are amazing. Havlicek, the BigO ,Kareem ,Cowens WOW!
  12. I was listening Kfan today and former Gopher and NBA player Trent Tucker was interviewed. They were talking about D1 basketball and Trent was asked what he thought about the college game today. He said the game was better years ago when he played in the early 80's. I happen to agree with him. In most sports the players are better today because of the obvious. They are bigger faster stronger. But basketball isn't football or track. There are times when a bunch of good shooters can beat a team with alot more athletic ability. This isn't a knock on SU's BBteam. I just don't think the college game is as good as it was years ago.
  13. 52" you must have a drgree from UND to afford that. Ha Ha
  14. Andre Smith could have contested some of those lob dunks to Aldrich better than anyone the Bison had on the floor today. It could have made the game closer. And the game was close enough that Bison fans had hope untill the last few minutes. Ben Woodside is 5'11 and he dominated the game. I guess it doesn't matter how tall you are. Good game.
  15. That game would have been a good matchup. The SU team 2 years ago would have been tougher matchup for the Sioux when they had Andre Smith [ I may have the name wrong] on the inside for SU. When he played for SU is when they pulled off all there upsets. They havn't been able to replace him.
  16. Larry Bird couldn't jump either. It's how you play.
  17. Jackson was that good and he wasn't the only good player back then. SU had a good one in Ron Schlieman. He scored 50 points against former NBA great Elvin Hayes in Houston at the Astrodome. I believe he had 24 field goals which may still be the record at SU. What a great accomplishment. Still I don't think SU beat the Sioux much during Jacksons era.
  18. Phil Jackson would score 50 points against Lucas Moorman.
  19. My point is that I think the top 2 or 3 teams in D2 could compete in the Summit. The Summit isn't the Big 10.
  20. Dave Vonesh's teams could play with this years SU's team. And Phil Jackson's teams in the 60's may be the best teams ever in the Dakotas. But we'll never know.
  21. Winona St. beat the Gophers a couple years ago. Something SU did not do. Those Winona St. teams were as good or better than SU.
  22. This is a good year to play Kansas. As a bb fan I may go. Never been to a tourney game. If I go I will wear a Sioux jersey. The Sioux may be in the Summit someday. I hope so. But when you look at the Summit compared to the other conferences in the country I'm afraid it doesn't rank that high. It's an average or below average conference. And you know what Paul Harvey said about being average. It means your the best of the louiest, and the lousiest of the best. It made me wonder since neither UND or NDSU has never won a D2 mens BB Champiosship is it more difficult to win a D2 Championship or to win the Summit in BB.
  23. Not long ago I was l was listening to WDAY radio. The Bison senior BB players were interviewed. Nice young men. It tells kids from the upper midwest can compete if they work hard.
