Are you assuming Duluth wins as well? Otherwise the Play in winner would play CC and the Sioux would get Denver, no matter what the Gophs did.

Once. We played Mankato the last 2 years, Duluth 3 years ago, Tech 4 years ago, and Denver 5 years ago.

I like the bracket that has us playing Bu with Miami and Mankato in as well. I don't think BU is that good. Obviously we need to play better or we won't beat anyone but that would be a sweet bracket.

I think Duncan is more of a finisher. This year if he doesn't have his shot, he moves around trying to find one. While he will score some, he is apt to lose the puck as he isn't the biggest player out there. IMO, the difference is that he is trying to be a set up guy instead of a finisher. If he can't get off a shot, I would like to see him push it back to the point and maintain possesssion. That being said, he is still a major part of this team.

You are probably right which is why he could not overturn the call he made on the ice. I think PCM wrote on USCHo that the net needs to be flat on the ice or it is considered moved. Obviously, the net wasn't flat on the ice when that goal was scored.

I love how they screwed up the playin bracket. Its almost like they know Duluth will play DU and win.

A win/tie by us tomorrow and Makato hosts Minne. Not the matchup I want to see but I don't want us to lose tomorrow so they can change it either! Since I don't see us losing and MSUM losing, SCSU needs a point for home ice where they will host the Badgers. Hopefully Tech can win so they stay a TUC. I assume we want to play Tech in the playoffs so we would root for Duluth as well but is it possible to knock out Tech if we play in the playoffs? Then we might want to play Duluth. But is it possible to knock Duluth out if we play in the playoffs as well? Lots of questions to be answered.

I don't really know how to feel about our PWR. I have seen some projections that have us, Miami, SCSU, and Minne in a bracket. Obviously this would be a conference first round game but they might do it with 7 from the WCHA in. While I would savor playing Miami (more than DU or even MSU), I don't want SCSU (even though they always lose in the first round) or Minne in the bracket. I have a feeling we might get a better draw being the 3rd or 4th #1 then if we are the 1 or 2.

Reffing is hard in all sports. Yet I still give them crap (not kids unless they are seriously lacking any skills whatsoever) even though I know how hard it is because the system allows it. Simply put, the crowd can usually see penalties, fouls, etc. better than the refs can. They get to see the whole playing surface while the ref can only see so much. Thus the refs will always miss half of what goes on. While the fans should be civil, most of the time they are right but it really isn't the refs fault.

How many times will you have to set the record straight before people will actually get it?

I guess I am not seeing it. They are 1 game over as of now. As long as they get 1 win this weekend and avoid a sweep in the playoffs, they can't finish any worse than .500.

Heck yes! Glad that luck is a big part of hockey but we will have to step it up next weekend. It will be interesting to see how the injuries will affect the team.

I think they made quite a few strides in the year. I think they will keep improving in the next couple of years.
