What!? There is still a good 3 hours left of tonight.
-
True that.
-
Haha. I noticed you are from MN so are you talking about the LR of MN? I guess I am from around Devils Lake in ND but I would say they both are Gods country! Or at least for fishing and the like.

A N C H O R A G E! 2-1 Rodents.

I would love to see us match up with CC again. The 1st game we played they looked horrible. The next night the roles were reversed. I think the true result is somewhere in between. As for BC, I really think there will be a couple of major upsets in other conference playoffs but I don't think there will be hardly any in the WCHA.
-
Yeah I tend to think we will head out East. I don't see CC dropping out of a 1, although it could happen. They will try to place Michigan in WI at almost all cost. UW basically controls how that will go with their play in the next couple of weeks. That leaves us out East if we win. I wouldn't mind being the 3 or 4 because that means Miami is more likely to be our 2 seed which has everyone licking their lips.
-
If either CC or Denver get a 1 which seems very likely, I doubt we would get put out in CO (and in the case of CC, we couldn't be). I don't see us falling to a 2 but if we did, I agree we likely would get sent out west unless either the other team of Denver and CC was also a 2. I guess I think we will be out east or possibly in Madison if we get the overall 1 and WI isn't a 4.
-
True. I guess I was just looking at it from the WCHA point of view but that helps us even more. One has to think that losing to Tech tonight though couldn't have helped them at all.

I was very impressed with the men tonight. Very good shooting and even though they were outmatched down low they held their own. I was worried at the beginning about the D but they really locked down in the 2nd half. This was the only game I saw all year and even though UMD was the worst team in the league, I can't see why we don't have a better record. Is it that the D is lacking? That and our post size would be the only 2 things I could think of. On a related note, UMD really shot themselves in the foot when they didn't use their size down low and when they went away from their deep 3 point shooter. He had 11 in the first 4 minutes and didn't get another until around 10 in the 2nd half. Great game all around.

Sure am glad that the DU and CC games are the last weekend of the year. If we win tomorrow, DU can not do any better or worse than 3rd. They would have nothing to play for but you don't want to lose to a rival.

Yup gotta go take care of business tomorrow and then it's on like donkey kong.

2 FRONT ROW TICKETS TO PLAY OFF SERIES
Stromer replied to Beemer_1234's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
I don't think she should settle down. Her post was very reserved. She simply stated she doesn't like selling student tickets at over face value without using agressive language. It might not be his fault that students got screwed over but I doubt he will sell for face value. I might not see eye to eye with Sioux Yeah Yeah on other issues, but anybody who sells student tickets for over face value isn't a true fan. If something comes up, just get your money back for them. -
I am watching the game that I recorded this afternoon since I was at the basketball games. I heard them mention that Anderson was supposed to be the ref but Thul replaced him. Did anyone hear why he was replaced?
-
That should help us. If I saw correctly, CC was the #1 overall last night. If they lose a couple and we win the cup, so be it. If they don't stumble, they take the top #1 seed which should excuse people from trying to protect Michigan by not sticking them in Madison. Of course, if UW keeps winning, they might be a #3.
-
No doubt, for me it has to be Toby Kvalevog. He was my favorite player growing up and he has a sweet name to boot.
-
Aren't we talking about only a week? It's not like they would be playing half of the season here.
-
Its not that far of a drive from Sioux Falls. While not ideal, it works.

GF Herald I think this article says it all. Rules are enforced by refs. You play the game based on the refs interpretation and enforcement of the rules, not by the rules alone. This is similar to the courts and the rules of the land. I think everyone will disagree with the lack of enforcement by the refs but it shouldn't take away from the win. Just because the refs interpretation or enforcement of the rules isn't how most view it (this incident being completely unintentional), it is how the game must be played. Great game by both teams.

From what I can see, the boys were playing more D today than is normal. I assume this is because of the new goalie. They made sure to limit the shots Walski saw and he did a great job on the ones he did. By playing a style that we normally don't play, we did not have a great offensive flow. We had our opportunities and did not capitalize. Our team reminded me of Tech or UW. Sit back and then strike when you can. I agree that we did not look good on 5x5 yesterday and that carried over, but I think the style of play was different today.

I will add some more random points to the conversation. While the customer service is improving at REA, it has room for improvement. Waiting 10-15 minutes to open the doors after tickets are supposed to be on sale isn't acceptable. Waiting another 15 min to announce why nothing was happening is also too long. I don't have a problem waiting if you are having system problems. However, a prompt announcement about what is going on is appreciated. I can see why the REA wants tickets online because ticketmaster gets revenue then. I don't have a problem buying season tickets online because the students will line up throughout that weekend and online makes it more fair. For the playoffs, however, I don't see fans waiting more than some odd number of hours for tickets. Have it at REA with 4 packages per person and only allow each person online to get 1 package. That helps people who are out of town and maintains fairness. Sure ticketmaster loses revenue but so what. I admit I misjudged the interest for tickets and didn't get the ones I wanted. I blame myself for that. I just think that where as the season tickets are all online, they should do something similar in the playoffs. Again, I misjudged the number of people who would pay ticketmaster fees for lower bowl tickets.
-
I see your point. The best scenario would be to have them go on sale at the same time, but only allow the online sales to purchase 1 ticket. The box office still would sell up to 4. If you are out of town, you can still get tickets but if you want to sit with some one, your friends should already be waiting in line. Solves both problems.
-
Did the online sales get lower bowl? It seems to me it sold out pretty fast. It works a lot better when the students are on break. Last year I got some in the 4th row in the lower bowl hours after they went on sale.

Did anyone else think that the CFB call on BSU was very weak? I didn't agree with it live and after watching the replay at home, I don't think it was the correct call. Duncan was closer to the boards than most players are when they get hit. Duncan also didn't really go into the boards, he more or less was already on the ice. I just didn't see a lot of danger in that hit. Maybe a 2 for X checking or boarding but thats it. It was a huge decision becuase the Sioux did not look good early and that call basically ended the game. I also think that Campion started reffing the scoreboard to keep it close (such as the goal that didn't count.)

Afternoon game= less energy. Not that I am complaining because it is just different for a non conference matchup in the afternoon.
