As April is coming to an end, I really think Austin Matthews is going to go the Major Junior route. With him scoring a goal in the Worlds (even though it was an exhibition game) I think he is headed MJ. If he does decide to go the college hockey route, I don't see UND landing him. I foresee some Boston school getting him for some odd reason. He will be better than Eichel as he is more of a power forward and really is a special player. If Hak could land him, UND's team next year would be something special. N. Schmaltz, Bossers, Gerish, Drake + Matthews? That would be incredible. However, wishing on limb...

REA Olympic Rink had a sale starting from 8:30am Friday - Sunday during their Hockey Academy Tournament. Brand new sticks were $100, used breezers and gloves $50. Not sure if they mentioned it anywhere... Really good deal on nice sticks/equipment.

Are you serious? Matthews is going to beat Patrick Kane's record in points on the USA under-team. He's an all-round true power forward that just scores and controls the game. Matthews "might" be better than Eichel when it is all said in done IMO. Eichel is a good player maker at times but has NHL speed and a great shot. His true assets.

No, not even close. Boeser wil have a great 2-3 years at UND. Eichel is a once in a decade type of player.

Be interesting to see the videos that will continue to come out by the Sioux were silenced Facebook page. Also note, they have over 6,000 likes in about a 24 hour period of time. That's pretty awesome!

Looking at next year, we will be solid on the backend and good in goal. Offensively we can't get any worse than this year. Will we win next year? Probably not, but we will compete and should make the tournament. Anything can happen. We might add one more late forward so this could get interesting to see how the next few months play out. A lot of NCHC teams lose a lot. We lose senior leadership. I think our team will be at the top in the NCHC.

Also, great effort and thank you to the Seniors. I don't want to analyze this and that, Hak this or that etc. But I feel bad for Zane. Two years in a row with heartbreaking losses in the F4. Great kid. that just isn't right..... we need a sports phycologist

He will not step in the NHL right away, but he will get his pro career started. I think some of you posters forget that the AHL is the second best level stateside for professional hockey. One is that much closer to reaching their dream of making the NHL. Players have a short window. Paul is older and he will develop in the AHL. No one is telling him (family, friends, advisor) that he'll play in the NHL next year. He knows that.
