If healthy, UND could compete and potentially beat Denver. What concerns me the most lately at UND is the following: O Mac = O goals Wilkie = 1 Goal TJ S. = Not his fault, but is letting in 3 goals per game against good competition. UND isn’t going to score 4+ goals to win these games. Lack of continued production from USHL to college. I understand it’s a big jump but our USHL studs, minus Jackson Blake, are not developing enough (production wise) at UND. Sasha, Mac S (skating is a hurting at this level) are on a decent trajectory, would be nice to get a few more goals… Transfer portal - depending on it way too much annually for goalies and D-man. Have to do better recruiting, no reason you can’t find a goalie or D-‘man. Tons of players and parity, most blue chippers are forwards coming into college hockey minus Sanderson, Makar etc. over the last few years. Zeev Buium is really good but I don’t think most scouts had him putting up 50 points as freshman. Could say, UND’s Jake L. no one expected him to dominate points wise last year like he did.

Buy out Bubba, give him a job in the alumni association. Time for a change. It’s time.

Denver looks great. Second youngest team in the country. Too many penalties for UND. UND not great on face-offs. UND NOT great on battles/puck protection

Not that I expected the team to win a Natty, but if Berg is out long term, there goes the season. Team doesn’t have enough veteran punch with him out of the lineup.

When is O Mac gonna get off the goose egg? Can’t have him go with no goals in the first half of the szn. Scoring has been spread out but this guy needs to get a few goals to get the monkey off his back. This is like his freshman year on repeat.

UND should go after Sam Dickinson. First round pick of the Sharks. Already won a championship won the London Knights. Doing well this year. Kid should play college hockey for 1-2 years next to refine his game against older competition.

Poor penalties at the end and gave up some goals on TJ. Not his fault but it seems like he’s giving up ~ 3 goals/game. That is just not good enough.

Give the coaches credit, given their personal availability, they have the lines + chemistry correct I would say.

Duluth team looks small and not as physical as Duluth teams in the past.

He’s only played in one game so far this year? Geezus christmas. It’s November, he’s not playing this weekend and bringing him back in against a rival in the Denver series could be a challenge. Ugh, bring him back in 2nd half and bring a D in at semester time too. People mock how UND keeps bringing in a goalie in the transfer, but looking at how many D UND has brought in from the portal from Ty Farmer to Jandric and onward… Seems like we have a D-recruiting and measuring talent issue.

Overrated/hype recruit that couldn’t handle the USHL. We’ll see where he goes.

0 goals in 7 games for Owen McLaughlin doesn’t help, especially when Jackson Blake moved on. Need this player in double digit goals. Why do UND’s players seem to put up less points than their peers in college hockey coming in from good USHL seasons? I understand UND preaches and teaches a two way game, but this has been concerning for a decade now

The schedule was not what any team would want. At best, team was looking at a split this weekend. Injuries and poor play and goaltending. Could be a long winter.

.500 by Thanksgiving is what they’re looking at.

UND needs to get some players in the top 50 - https://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/overall.php Annually, UND has one of the toughest schedules in the county, but it'd be nice to have a few guys high up in the scoring stats. Jackson Blake did well last year, but I feel like with the talent UND has had since 2005, they haven't had guys dominate scoring stats as much as they should given their skill. Brock (did) Oshie, Toews, Pinto, Gregoire (did decent) Kristo (did alright) Ducan etc. BC, BU, Michigan, Denver continue has players pop off.

I saw the play. Vaughn was scrambling and then had a UND player wide open who dropped a layup pass. Yes, Vaughn was scrambling and it wasn’t probably the best play to start with, but how do you drop that light pass?

UND should have played Hobie. I stand by it. Rotate 2 goalies until later in the year.

Think they beat Minnesota at home during covid on the Saturday night after getting stomped by the Gophers on Friday night.

Shelve the Nodak jerseys. Their record is not good in them. Would have been a big win tonight. Shoot.
