  1. That one stands out for me as well. At the old civic center.
  2. For the kids participating, yes it's about accomplishment and having a positive experience. But how is hype regarding your athletic department a bad thing? That's the essence of the debate IMO. Chapman understood this and needless to say, is getting quite a return on his investment this week. Go to Google Trends and you'll notice a hockey stick effect on searches for NDSU since....you guessed it, March 10th when Woodside hit the jumper.
  3. In theory yes, but $70 for the session is too steep when we'd be out of there after the first game. We're gonna pass in favor of the afteroon game at the X, but I'm sure there will be some Sioux fans there.
  4. http://www.wildtymes.net/menu/burgers.html Looks like about 900 other sports bar menus in this town, at least to me.
  5. Those will be coming back into style very soon, I think.
  6. Should be a fun time in the Cities this weekend! Great scenario for NDSU. They'll bring a great crowd and will likely be the feature game nationally in their time slot.
  7. I like it. Great Waters was a little too spread out, and the back room was sort of in the boonies and hard to find.
  8. It's time for term limits on all of these clowns.
  9. That is awesome about Duncan! Just tuned in!
  10. It would take a couple of upsets in the first round for the rule to matter this year. It's when Minnesota is a 2 or 3 then it sort of pisses me off. The play-in winner on Thursday night has to turn around and play Friday afternoon against a bye team? Dumb.
  11. I vaguely recall teh Minnesota rule being repealed also, but only on message boards. Interesting.
  12. That seems right, unless there's games played between the teams in question. Then it's H2H. If it's a split then RPI. I've got the basketball version of this figured out too. Just waiting for Lunardi to piss me off.
  13. Those Gator hoopsters gonna bust that bubble Tommiejo?
  14. I pop into the chat room on game nights and that's about it. Too sanitized in the forums.
  15. Glad it's not run like Rodentville over here. Jim or Dagies would've suspended his ass for two weeks for that post if it were.

    Congrats NDSU

You're not alone. But that horse has been put out to pasture (somewhere in Pennsylvania), so now it's time to focus on the future.
  17. When I bought NCAA Football 2003, they kicked Northwestern out of the conference to accomodate us.
  18. I don't think Gene has any intention of sending an NDSU football team to Grand Forks...ever. Therein lies the problem.
  19. Depends on the timeframe. Short-term, the latter is more plausible of course. Long-term, I could see the former happening.
  20. I can see the above mentioned joining the Valley for all sports before a Summit football league.

    Congrats NDSU

I agree that the support ND angle is totally overblown. I think their seniors will ensure a good showing, win or lose.

    Congrats NDSU

That may be true on the court. Bigger picture, NDSU is going to get the kind of national PR and marketing that we can only dream about right now. You have to respect what's gone on in Fargo the last five years. The first time a first-year eligible team has made the tournament since Long Beach fourty years ago? Are you kidding me? Too many things have gone right during their transition for this to be an accident or fluke. I hope our leadership is taking notes and reaching out where and when appropriate.
  23. So basically the a/p department will be cutting the checks to her instead of the payroll dept.
  24. Bison are goin' dancing, congratulations to them. Why Oakland went away from Benson in the second half is mind-boggling to me. NDSU will give some three or four seed fits in the tournament.
